Despite the fact that sushi and rolls appeared in Russia not so long ago, they are now deservedly popular. Especially celebrated by fans of Japanese cuisine rolls "Philadelphia" and "California". It is not necessary to visit cafes or restaurants to try them. If you buy the necessary ingredients, it is possible to make California rolls, the recipe of which is not complicated, independently.

It is believed that invented, or rather, modernized, the dish was in America in the 70's. One of the sushi bar chefs made a good marketing move, hiding the noria seaweed, which is usually wrapped in sushi, inside, under a layer of rice. Ironically, such rolls have gained popularity much more than traditional sushi, the fans of which remain, to a greater extent, the Japanese themselves.

What is included in this dish? First, it's crab meat or crab sticks. Sometimes they are replaced with boiled shrimps. In this form, there is no roll of raw seafood, which also explains their popularity among Europeans. In addition, there is a fresh cucumber and avocado, as well as specially prepared rice. In some cases, you can add carrots. From the top of California rolls, the recipe of which has changed over time, they are dumped in tobiko, caviar of flying fish, thanks to which the dish has a beautiful bright color. However, instead of it you can use sesame, this is already a matter of taste. You will also need noria sheets and mayonnaise. The latter is better to take the Japanese, which is sold in the department stores, where you can buy almost everything to make sushi and rolls.

Rice in this case is taken special for rolls, which can be purchased in many supermarkets and cooked according to the recipe indicated on the package. More often, carefully washed rice is put on fire, water is added at the rate of 2: 1. Rice vinegar is brought to a boil in a separate bowl, salt and sugar are poured into it, it mixes. The vinegar mixture is poured into the cooked rice, everything is mixed.

Further, in order to prepare the rolls of "California", the recipe for the filling can be taken as follows. Cucumbers and avocados are peeled, cut into thin long strips. Crab meat is cleaned. On a mobile mat, covered with food film, with wet hands laid rice thin layer. From above is placed a sheet of seaweed noria, smeared with Japanese mayonnaise, crab meat and vegetables are laid out on it. Everything rolls down rolls, dipped in caviar. Those who prefer rolls with sesame seeds can sprinkle them on top. Served this dish with vassabi and pickled ginger, also separately in the dishes you can offer soy sauce.

Vegetarian rolls have a similar recipe, however, only vegetables will serve as filling. Usually it is a cucumber mixed with mayonnaise, or sliced carrots with avocado slices. Sometimes add the pulp of mango, which makes the dish acquires an original taste.

You can prepare the rolls "California" as follows. On a bamboo mat is laid out a thin layer of tobiko, from above is placed a dense layer of rice, which is laid out a sheet of algae. Boiled and peeled shrimp are cut into small pieces, they add cucumber pulp, sliced, a little mayonnaise, mix everything well, put evenly on the noria. On one side, the edge rises, and the ingredients neatly roll down to the end of the noria. Gently rolls get better, to get the right shape, cut into portions.

It should be noted that the rolls of the California recipe are similar to the rolls of Philadelphia, however, for the latter, roulette is not made, and rice is given a form of dense sausages, on which all other ingredients are superimposed.
