How long does the bee live, and why does the length of its life depend?

Bees live in large families - swarms, each - in their hive. In the family are 3 types of peculiar insects: a bee, a drone and a queen. The question arises: "And how many lives does the bee?" There will be no unambiguous answer, we must first clarify which one. In the bee world, there is matriarchy. And this means that the leading role belongs to individuals of the female sex - working bees and the uterus. They make up the biological basis of the family, as they are able to rebuild the nest, collect food and multiply. Men are drones. They are incapable of working. Their destination is the fertilization of the uterus, which occurs in the air and very rarely. The uterus in the hive is one, and the drones are thousands. But only a few of them mate with the uterus. Obtained for a marriage span of semen from 7-10 drones the uterus can last for 2-3 years.

How many years live bees

Each bee in the swarm system performs its specific functions and is unable to live separately, outside the bee society. Let's start with the head of the swarm - the queen bee. So arranged by nature that she is the only full-fledged female with developed sexual organs, the progenitor of all members of the bee family: working insects, drones, young queens. As the poet said: "He lives with her 40 thousand daughters." The number of bees depends on its egg-laying. Simple dependence: more eggs, more bees, more honey. How many lives does the queen bee? Only her age is measured in years and can be 5-6 years. But before this age only the most valuable specimens survive, from which many descendants are desirous to receive. Aging, the uterus lays less and less eggs, among which more and more unfertilized, and from them drones are obtained. Most often after 2 years the uterus is replaced with a young one.

How many lives the bee-drone

It depends on how lucky for an individual insect. Drones are brought out in late spring. In the beehive they accumulate several thousand. Sexual maturity of the drone reaches to two weeks of age. Immediately after insemination of the uterus, the drone dies. Many of them also die in the marriage flight. Surviving to the autumn after the end of the honey crop the worker bees are driven out to the hunger-cold out of the hive: they need too much food. But sometimes drones can still be left for winter in those families where there is no uterus or it is barren. Bees are able to determine the damages of the producer and the need for drones. A sufficient number of drones in the hive is needed in order to certainly fertilize the uterus. So it turns out that some drones live 2 weeks (as it may happen), others - from spring to autumn cold, others can live almost a year.

How long does a working bee

To answer this question, you need to know the birth time of the worker bee when she left the cell. Spring bees that appeared after wintering can survive for 35 days. The June bees live for 30 days. And the animals that were taken during the main honey-gathering - 28, from the strength of 30. How many lives does the autumn bee, say, September? In the autumn, long-bee bees appear. They need to live until the spring, until the new honey season. And this in the conditions of Siberia, for example, can be six months and a little more. And this is not the limit. In families without brood, worker bees live up to a year.
