When do strawberries have a mustache to pick up a good harvest?

Despite the existing variety of species and varieties of strawberries, they grow this berry, as a rule, in the same way (except for industrial scales). In most cases the bushes bear fruit from May to the end of June (depending on the weather and climatic belt). True, there are also such strawberry varieties that are capable of yielding up to the first frosts, but this is more likely an exception.

For berries in the winter or spring period, they can be cultivated in greenhouse conditions. However, then the strawberry will not be so delicious. Regardless of whether it grows in the open ground or under a film, bushes need constant care, and competent. For example, many do not know what to do with the strawberry mustache, which constantly grows (it thus multiplies). Specialists strongly advise them to break off, so that the newly formed plants do not take away the strength from the berries. Naturally, if it is planned to propagate strawberries, they should be left, and after rooting, separated from the mother plant and planted separately.

When strawberries are cut off from a mustache, so that they do not interfere with the full development of the fruit, it should be learned in advance, even before the season of active garden work. Experts advise doing this in several stages throughout the spring-summer period. And some recommend removing the shoots, regardless of the stage of ripening of berries as they appear. But there is another opinion: it is extremely important to observe the time when the strawberries have to break off the mustache. And if it is not done in time, the mother plant itself may suffer. The laying of flower buds for the next year occurs immediately after harvest, that is, around the end of June. Adherents of the second point of view are strongly advised to spare bushes from excess shoots during this period, because, in their opinion, the presence of mustaches can lead to the fact that the future harvest will be meager.

Now there are such kinds of plants that reproduce by seeds. These strawberries do not give whiskers, and therefore, they do not need to be removed. But in most cases the problem still exists.

There is another version (not devoid of common sense), according to which it does not matter when the strawberries are cut off from the mustache. The main thing is how to do it. In particular, the procedure should be carried out with caution, and the shoots should not be torn off, but cut with a garden shears or a knife. In this case, the mother plant is inflicted with minimal harm, so it can be done even during the active ripening of berries.

Most species of strawberry whiskers begin to appear immediately after flowering. This means that in the early spring, when plants only wake up after the cold, weakened, they will not start the shoots. In this period, you need to remove the straw from the bushes (if they insulated it), remove the weeds (if any) and do the feeding. Deciding when to stop strawberries from a mustache, along with them, do not forget to cut off the dry leaves so that they do not interfere with the plant.

When plant breeding, many of them tend to generally touch less to minimize trauma. However, this is not entirely correct. In this case, the processes are also removed. Knowing when to cut off a mustache from a strawberry, you can make the plant more "prolific". And the very first process is desirable to leave, after all from it the most strong plant will turn out. The rest is better to remove, so they do not interfere.
