Authentic Songs When Implementing Second Generation Standards

Modern youth is interested in the work of foreign performers. In the information space there are a lot of thematic songs. Since the child needs to be taught to master this space and develop his search skills (to make him think and make decisions), the teacher must actively develop exercises to increase the motivation for learning and developing the student. After all, self-development and self-education play not an unimportant role in teaching.

According to the standards of the second generation, the teacher needs to form over-subject communications in the lesson, so that the student receives and applies knowledge for practical life, and also understands why he needs to learn a foreign language. And since supra-subject communication is a universal way of obtaining and applying information, an authentic song is one of the opportunities to ensure the receipt of various information.

1) authentic songs contain a large number of thematic information, filled with vocabulary and persistent expressions, which students can later apply in conversations with foreign citizens Scorpions ("Wind of change" -politics); Madonna ("American life" - modern society); Avril Lavigne ("Sk8er boy" - teenagers problems).

2) for the formation of grammatical skills, you can also use authentic songs. Queen ("We are the champions" - Present Perfect)

3) songs contribute to the improvement of pronunciation skills, intonation.

4) the music in the lesson can serve as a psychological detente, and also with the help of songs you can conduct a physical warm-up to save the students' health. Black lace "I am the music man." (The song is performed with movements that play with different instruments)

5) songs stimulate monologic, contribute to the development of both prepared and not prepared statements. John Lenon "Imagine"

Foreign language songs can help us a lot in educating children, but we can not forget that exercises should not be dry:

Of course, all new lexical units and grammatical constructions students can apply in practice, in dialogues.

Answer the following questions:

1. What season is it?

2. What mood did the singer have?

3. What did the signer have?

4. In what did the signer believe?

5. How should that dream help the signer?

6. Which dreams do you have?

7. Does it really help to cope with problems?

Ask, what does this song teach? Is it necessary to struggle with obstacles in life? What to do when the right time is right? What are you ready for to fulfill your dream? Asking precisely such questions, the teacher encourages children to think and communicate, which is what the second generation standards demand

So, authentic songs help to involve a child in the learning process, lead him to knowledge and educate in him positive personal qualities of a person and respect for the culture of a foreign language. And it is also an impeccable material for fulfilling the requirements of the second generation.

But, in no case should we forget about the copyrights of the performers, so before you take this or that song, select a specific passage that you can use in the lesson.
