When to beat the Tevogu? Venereal diseases - symptoms in men

There are diseases, of which it is considered not very decent to speak in society - these are sexually transmitted diseases. Symptoms in men are manifested in different ways. It is customary to talk about this only in the company of close friends. Well, if these friends are doctors, they can give the right advice and guide the way. But in most cases everything is not as it should be - sometimes there is not enough basic information about the signs of sexually transmitted diseases, men are triggered by a complex of false modesty. Instead of a visit to a specialist, many go for advice to "seasoned comrades," who often carry authoritative delusions.

Venerology today knows more than 20 types of infections. Signs of sexually transmitted diseases in men can be caused by viruses, protozoa microorganisms, bacteria, yeast fungi. Depending on the type of pathogens, modern medicine distinguishes several types of venereal diseases :

  1. Classical diseases - gonorrhea, syphilis and soft chancre. Mankind has suffered from these diseases for many centuries. Less common is venereal lymphogranulomatosis and donovanosis.
  2. "New" diseases. Over the past few decades, scientists have significantly enlarged the list of diseases with sexual transmission. It added genital herpes, human papillomavirus, chlamydia, ureaplasmosis, cytomegalovirus infection.
  3. Skin diseases, the transmission of which occurs during sexual contact: scabies, pubic lice, molluscum contagiosum.
  4. Diseases transmitted with unprotected sexual contact, but affecting other human organs: viral hepatitis B, viral hepatitis C, HIV.

All these diseases are dangerous in themselves, but the consequences that may appear after the illness are much more dangerous. Some are incurable, some can cause significant harm to health, some can lead to irreversible changes (impotence, infertility, death).

Timely and correctly diagnosed will help to quickly cure venereal diseases. Symptoms in men and women are about the same. How to diagnose possible sexually transmitted diseases (symptoms in men):

  • Frequent urge and pain when urinating (pain, stinging, burning).
  • Discharge from the penis.
  • Ulcers on the genitals (can be painless).
  • Rash on the body and in the genital area.
  • Sometimes fever.
  • A sore throat.
  • Pain and discharge from the rectum.
  • Increased size of lymph nodes.

However, the absence of these symptoms does not guarantee the absence of infection. Most venereal diseases do not manifest immediately after infection. From the moment of infection and until the appearance of noticeable symptoms can pass from several days to several weeks, in some cases - several months. The incubation period of the disease and the period up to four weeks after taking antibiotics can adversely affect the accuracy of the diagnosis. During this period, it is highly desirable to avoid sexual contact (the risk of re-infection, a high probability of contracting a partner).

Some diseases are generally asymptomatic - a sick person can for several years not feel any negative changes in his body. In some cases, secondary signs of infection (rash, high fever, decreased libido, painful sensations during intercourse) are not regarded by the patient as symptoms of the disease. All this greatly complicates the ability to correctly diagnose sexually transmitted diseases: symptoms in men are false or simply absent.

What else I would like to draw attention to: the diagnosis of such diseases can be accompanied by errors. By mistake can put a non-existent diagnosis, by mistake can "not notice" the disease. This is not the whims of doctors or the incompetence of staff. It is necessary to understand that the specificity of venereal diseases presupposes the complexity of diagnosis.

The most effective protection today is the condom. However, there are situations in which contact occurs without him, or the condom is unusable. If you had unprotected casual sex (oral, anal, vaginal) - experts recommend a mandatory examination at the venereologist.

It is very important not to treat yourself! Only a venereologist can accurately diagnose sexually transmitted diseases, signs to fold into a holistic picture and prescribe an effective treatment.
