One of the favorite flowers grown on the windowsills is the violet. There are countless varieties and a huge variety of shades. Each kind of these amazing flowers is magnificent in its own way.

Senpolia has large velvety leaves. The flower is burgundy-crimson color, terry or semi-double structure. The edges of the petals are slightly darkened, and the corrugated ruches are white-green in color.
During the blossoming of the flower, the fringing is always green, and if it is cool in the room, it keeps it. Otherwise - gradually whitens.

Care
Miniature beautiful plant does not require special care, but there are some features. Violet "esmeralda" grows rapidly and actively blooms, if it is in a well-lit place. Optimum light day should be at least 14 hours. For this you can use artificial lighting. On the windowsills should protect the city from direct sunlight.
The temperature regime for the violet should be constant, 20-24 degrees. The temperature at night is 4 degrees below daytime. Do not allow drafts. In summer, at a very high temperature, the plant can die.
Watering
Leaves of violets are located at the very ground. When irrigation, the water should not fall on their surface and on the outlet. For watering the pot is immersed in a container of water until the surface layer of the soil is wet. After the liquid drains, the plant is put in place. The procedure is repeated twice a week.
Top dressing
In early spring, during the active growth of the plant, it is fed with nitrogen fertilizer. The next application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers is made with the appearance of buds. The procedure is repeated every two weeks. Fertilizers are purchased in a flower shop and used according to the attached instructions. In winter, the violet "esmeralda" is in a state of rest and does not require additional feeding.
Violet "esmeralda" reproduces by a subsidiary rosette or leaf cuttings, very rarely it is grown from seeds.
Illnesses
The most common diseases:
- Powdery mildew. It appears by the appearance on the sheets of a touch of white color. The cause of the disease: low temperature and high humidity in the room. For the treatment of using special drugs ("Topaz", "Saprol") or powdered violet powder of sulfur.
- Late blight. It damages the stems of the plant, which acquire a greyish-brown hue. You need to get the polypy from the pot and carefully examine the root system. Sick, brownish roots should be removed. Violet put in another pot and change the ground.
- Fusarium. It develops in violation of growing conditions: watering with cold water, a large pot, sudden temperature fluctuations. The disease is manifested by decay of roots, leaves and petioles. The affected parts of the plant are removed. To prevent disease, the violet "esmeralda" is treated with an antifungal agent.
- Gray rot. It appears as a fluffy greyish-brown coating. The disease is treacherous, capable of leading to the death of a flower in a short time. Prevention is the right care.
- Rust. Formed in the presence of water on the violet leaves, so watering is carried out carefully, so that water does not fall on the plants.
