The drug "Berlition" has an antioxidant effect. It regulates lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, is a hepatoprotector. The active component is thioctic (alpha-lipoic) acid.

Duration of treatment - from two to four weeks. The subsequent therapy is carried out using a tablet form. Dosage at the same time - 300 mg once a day.

When intramuscular injection dosage in one place of administration should not be more than fifty milligrams (two milliliters). If it is necessary to use high doses of "Berlion", the instruction for use recommends that the amount be distributed to several injections (two milliliters per each injection site).

A medication can cause various negative manifestations. Among the adverse reactions from taking the "Berlion" remedy, the instruction for use marks the development of a feeling of heaviness in the head, difficulty breathing. As a rule, these reactions are a consequence of rapid intravenous administration. As practice shows, these manifestations are eliminated on their own.

In some cases, after the introduction of a vein, convulsions and diplopia, thrombocytopathy, hypoglycemia were noted. As local manifestations, the "Berlition" remedy can cause eczema or hives. In rare cases, there were reactions of a systemic nature (anaphylactic shock included).

The therapeutic efficacy of the medication in this category of patients may be due to the ability of the active component to affect the nervous vegetative system by increasing in particular the wave propagation velocity in visceral sympathetic and parasympathetic fibers.

Interaction with other medicines.

It has been established that alpha-lipoic acid (thioktic acid) reacts with complexes including metal ions (with Cisplatin, for example). In this regard, with the simultaneous administration of the drug "Berlition" with the drug "Cisplastin", the effect of the former may weaken.

The component ethanol and its decomposition products when combined are also capable of reducing the effectiveness of thiectic acid.
