Take care that it does not fall into a can of oil. Nothing critical with it will not happen, but you will have to search fairly for it on the bottom (waste oil is unlikely to be transparent).
About the traffic jam
While the oil is drained into the container, inspect the condition of the plug itself. It has a metal rubberized washer, which provides a seal. If this element is cracked or lost elasticity, it should be replaced with a new one. Otherwise, the oil will drain out. Yes, for 10 thousand, probably, the glass of a liquid will not pour out. But even with the slightest stains, mud and road dust will stick on the pallet.
About the filter
Along with oil, you need to replace the filter. Where is he located? The element is located near the exhaust manifold and has a cylindrical shape. But his hands are unlikely to work. For this you need to use a special puller.
Helpful Hint: When installing a new filter, apply a couple of drops of oil to the O-ring. And if the brand and viscosity of the new oil corresponds to the old, you can simply press both filters end-to-end. So on the rubber band there will be a uniform oil film.
It is better to install the filter without tools. It is twisted by the effort of the hand. Do not tightly press it to the surface, otherwise the rubber will simply squeeze out (or there will be difficulties with further dismantling). Twist until we feel resistance.
What next?
Now it only remains to pour new oil into the engine. To completely clean the system of the old grease, you need to shed some new. It is enough 100-200 milliliters. Fill this volume into the engine and go down to the pallet. You will see how a black liquid flows from the hole (although, it would seem, the oil is pure as a tear). So we completely remove the old oil particles. Now tighten the cork and pour the oil in full. For convenience, use a plastic watering can (preferably without a mesh, but clean).
After the replacement, mark in the notebook with the date and mileage of the car. So you will know exactly how much the car is left before the nearest maintenance.
How much to pour?
It all depends on the motor. If it is an 8-valve 1.4 or 1.6, then 3.4 liters are poured. On the 16-valve engine - about 4.8. If this is an oil change in the Renault Logan transmission, the volume is 3.1 liters. This is the parameter for the classical 5MKPP. But also on these machines put and "automatic machine". In this case, changing the oil in the Renault Logan transmission requires at least 4 liters of ATP liquid. But it will be more expensive than the usual "transmission".
