Ford Granada Car
The first Ford Granada car went on sale in 1972. It was presented by several types of bodies: a four- and two-door sedan, a four-door station wagon and a two-door Granada coupé with a lot of chrome parts. Models with a basic configuration before 1975 were called Ford Consul, in comparison with them, Granada was simply luxurious.
In the basic version of the model, engineers did not have too much. The salon was plastic, and the engine was a two-liter in-line engine.
Options L Ford Granada offered upholstery fabric doors and power steering. As an option, a two-position hatch was available.
The first-generation Ford Granada cars were equipped with a six-cylinder engine, the volume of which was from 2,300 to 3,000 liters.
Universal Ford Granada, tuning which was in those years is very common, equipped with window lifters, a sunroof and power steering with an amplifier. To a number of models GL and L was added also model S - sports version. It became a replacement for the Ford Consul GT car and received aluminum wheels, a rigid suspension, a sports steering wheel and a 3,000 liter engine.
The representative version of Ford Granada Ghia in 1975 was equipped with aluminum discs and a front grille in black. This car was widely known in European countries, where it was often used as a police car or taxi.
Ford Granada I was produced until 1977. Then the second generation came to replace him. First of all, the changes touched on the design of the car. The new appearance was distinguished by rectangular-shaped headlights, but the filling remained the same. Also, Granada II Turnier was launched.
Because of fashion, demand for small cars Ford Granada began to fall, and the release of this model was temporarily discontinued. In 1982, after a small upgrade, these cars began to be manufactured again. Changes have touched the interior and body design. There were mirrors made of plastic in the corners of the windows, new bumpers, rear rippled optics and other details. In the same year, the production of a sedan with two doors was discontinued. In 1983, the car began to equip a five-speed manual transmission and a new diesel engine, a volume of 2,500 liters and a capacity of sixty-nine horsepower.
But soon after Ford Granada replaced another car - Scorpio. This happened already in 1985.
