Most car owners love speed. But not all cars are able to satisfy such a desire. As a rule, only one reason is lack of power. Forcing an engine is a good way to eliminate it. The engine can be boosted in two ways: "brainwashing", as well as "surgical intervention". The first was called chip-tuning. Here, the settings of the engine control unit are simply changed. The fact that the manufacturer picks up a "golden mean", which allows you to develop the average characteristics for all the range of revolutions and engine loads. Forcing the engine allows you to shift the maximum performance closer to higher revs. Thus, if before, for example, the maximum torque developed at 3000 revolutions, then after flashing it will be developed, for example, about 5000. This is done in order to increase the dynamics of acceleration, as well as the maximum speed.

But it should be remembered that such forcing the engine will lead to a serious loss of power "at the bottoms," although if such events are being held, it is most likely that operation is not planned at low speeds.

The second method involves boring the cylinders for a larger volume, reducing the combustion chamber, installing lightweight parts, improving the collectors, power supply systems and lubrication. Let's consider all this separately.

Forcing the VAZ engine costs from this and start, because they all have a fairly small working volume. The increase in volume can be obtained by installing a crankshaft with a large knee, which will lead to a loss of ripple. The increase in the diameter of the piston, too, can not be infinite, since the block is completely cast from cast iron. In addition, honing of the walls can be carried out only at a certain thickness, after the removal of this layer, the use of cylinders will be impossible.

The installation of lightweight parts has a positive effect on the acceleration of the engine, because less energy is required to rotate and move them. In addition, the installation of lighter parts of the valve mechanism reduces the speed of its response to the valve timing, which is useful for ventilation and power supply systems. The latter can be attributed to the completion of the collectors, since it is the gases in the internal combustion engine that do all the work. Also, another air filter of higher capacity is installed on the engine.

But, like all the improvements, there are minuses. For example, forcing the VAZ 2101 engine leads to a serious decrease in its service life. This is logical, because the high energy that is transferred to the wheels, more wears out the piston group, which is the heart of the car. In addition, it is worthwhile to think about the clutch, because it is not designed for high engine performance, and with the correct forcing they can almost be doubled.
