Artificial ponds - a spectacular decoration of your garden

Very many would not mind creating artificial water reservoirs on their dacha or garden plot. Everyone wants to feel the cool during the summer heat, and it is water that can give it. At the moment, it makes no sense to plant the entire plot with vegetables, as they can be easily purchased in a shop or on the market during the year.

Much nicer and more useful during the summer holidays will not be picking in the garden, but it's convenient to get settled on your site to spend time in peace and comfort. This is the purpose of rest. If there is no natural reservoir on the site, it is quite possible to create artificial reservoirs with your own hands. This will require a little patience, effort and diligence, and as a result, in the suburban area everything will be beautiful and harmonious. To begin with, choose the place where the pond will be constructed. It should be such that the future pond fits there as naturally as possible. If a nearby garden grows or a flower garden is broken, it will be just perfect. If artificial reservoirs are planned for placement in densely grown places of trees and shrubs, it is better to place them on the north side of the future pond. Plants in this case will protect the reservoir and people near it from the wind, while they will take on the functions of shading.

Artificial reservoirs can have an arbitrary shape - round, oval, square, have a winding coastline. If the area of the site allows, then in the middle you can leave an islet of small dimensions. At the same time, it is important that artificial reservoirs fit perfectly into the surrounding landscape.

Construction should start with the fact that in the area chosen under it, you should remove the top layer of soil, and then dig a foundation pit, the edges of which should be slightly inclined. The bottom and walls of the pit should be laid out with a moisture-proof material, for example, clay, which must be thoroughly mixed and densely packed. When the first layer dries, you can start laying the second one. However, to begin with, a moisture-proof film must be laid on the first layer. The second clay layer should be covered with a layer of gravel, which should be slightly pressed into the clay, which will prevent erosion. If there are some aquatic plants in the pond, then for them it is necessary to make indentations, in which fertile soil should be located.

If we consider artificial reservoirs, then the water in them must be flowing, which will not allow it to stagnate. To do this, it is necessary to lay a supply pipe, it must be connected to a water pipe, and also a sewage pipe, which will be put into a ditch that is below the pond. On the drain pipe, a plug or valve should be installed.

Further, the pond can be planted with aquatic plants, of which there are many species. And to create coastal thickets, you can use moisture-loving plants. All of them should be placed in small groups so that the surface of the water is not completely closed. All other decorative elements for the pond are selected depending on the needs and taste preferences.
