Peptic Ulcer

Ulcer is a chronic disease, which is based on the defeat of the duodenum or stomach. This disease occurs in people of any age, in most cases, in men.

Factors contributing to the disease:

  • Genetic predisposition;
  • Malnutrition;
  • Chronic gastritis and duodenitis;
  • Smoking and consumption of alcoholic beverages;
  • Depression;
  • Prolonged use of individual medicinal products.

The peptic ulcer has its own symptoms:

  • Frequent pain in the upper abdomen ;
  • nausea, vomiting;
  • Heaviness after eating;
  • Decreased appetite;
  • heartburn.

The main task of the patient is to follow all the doctor's recommendations and diet. It is necessary to exclude from the diet salty, sharp, marinated, fried and smoked products, as well as tea, coffee, fat broths, alcohol and carbonated drinks. Doctors strongly recommend to quit smoking, as this interferes with the healing of ulcers and can trigger a relapse.

If the doctor does not contact the doctor in a timely manner or if the rules of treatment are not observed, the ulcer disease can give complications:

  1. Malignancy is the formation of a malignant tumor instead of an ulcer.
  2. Perforation of the ulcer - the formation in the walls of the stomach or duodenum holes. This phenomenon is very dangerous for humans. The contents of the stomach enter the abdominal cavity, which threatens infection.
  3. Bleeding.

Peptic ulcer of the duodenum and stomach requires constant monitoring of the doctor. For the prevention of disease the following measures are recommended:

  • Refusal to smoke and drink alcohol;
  • Developing and maintaining a proper diet;
  • Decreased nervous tension;
  • Timely treatment of gastroduodenitis and chronic gastritis.

Unfortunately, ulcer disease in children is not uncommon. In this case, the causes are also various disorders of the nervous system, violation of diet and diet, lack of vitamin B6. As a rule, in children the ulcer is formed in the duodenum.

Characteristic features: severe, non-persistent pain in the epigastric region, worse in palpation, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, belching. Pathological changes in the liver and intestines are possible. Peptic ulcer is accompanied by periduodenitis and bleeding.

Before the diagnosis, the doctor must listen to the patient's complaints and pay attention to hereditary predispositions. In order to confirm the diagnosis, you need to undergo an X-ray examination.

At the beginning of the disease for the successful treatment it is necessary to provide the child with bed rest. All conditions for a full sleep and a good emotional state of the child are created. A special diet is being developed, which will have to be adhered to for a long time. To maintain the body, the maximum possible doses of vitamins are prescribed. In treatment, mineral waters, alkalis, antibiotics are used. When bleeding, thermal procedures are contraindicated. When there is intestinal bleeding or bloody vomiting urgent hospitalization is needed.

During the period of remission, treatment in the spa zones has a positive effect. In such periods (but at least twice a year), anti-ulcer treatment is carried out: diet therapy, bed rest, use of drugs, alkalis, vitamins, sedatives, cabbage juice, hips.

In order to avoid the disease, you need to take care of your body and regularly carry out preventive measures. This directly affects children. For them, proper nutrition, care and upbringing must be organized. At risk are children who have suffered severe nervous shock, received hormones. And also children whose relatives suffer from this disease.
