It is worth considering that the thinner rod is more easily bent. For small fences separating the garden areas, even a rod with a section of 8x8 mm will do.

When choosing round rods, preference is given to those in which the diameter of the cross-section is in the range of 10 to 24 mm. Again, if billets are planned to be bent, it is better to choose a metal thinner.

For crossbeams that will connect the rods, use a profile pipe or a metal strip. The first option is a thing of the past. It is usually used when creating a frame around each section. In such cases, pipes with dimensions not less than 30x30x2 mm are suitable for vertically arranged racks. For horizontal guides, pipes with a section of 40x20 mm are chosen.

As for the metal strip, its width should be 3 times larger than the cross-section of the selected rods. For example, if round billets with a section diameter of 10 cm are used, the strip is selected with a width of 30 mm and a thickness of 2 mm.

As a support, metal pipes are used. When purchasing material, you need to calculate the quantity correctly. So, the poles should be on average 60 cm higher than the desired height of the fence. For example, if the fence is 2 m high, the pillars make a length of 2.6 m. This is necessary in order to damp them into the ground.

The final stage of the installation of the fence from the metal rod is its painting. This is necessary to protect the fence from climatic factors, which will prolong the life.

The first step is to clean the structure of dust and dirt. Then clean the welds and the places of corrosion (if any). For the entire fence, the first coat is applied with a protective primer. After it dries (as a rule, in sunny weather it takes very little time) you can start painting directly.
