How to draw a temple? Step-by-step instruction

Today, young artists and their parents have yet another task: to draw a temple with a pencil. This is both difficult and simple - at the same time. Depending on how to approach this. It takes a lot of time and patience, because in the task of small enough details, which are architectural elements of the temple. The structure itself is geometrically clear, consisting of simple and complex figures. Therefore, for more accurate image transmission, we need a ruler and a good eye.

But in the beginning - a bit of history

When Christianity was born, churches were not built, and believers were supposed to pray in special buildings - basilicas. Then came the time of persecution, and the Christians hid and prayed in the dungeons-catacombs. And only over time, a modern, familiar form of the structure was formed. It is believed that the temple is the house of God. The Lord is invisible in him. The temple or church differs from the ordinary house in that there is an altar inside, on the outside - domes, on them - crosses.

Symbolism

The dome traditionally symbolizes the heavens, and the cross - Jesus Christ, his victory over death. People believe that there is an angel on the throne of each temple, even if the temple is abandoned. As you know, many of the churches were destroyed during the revolutionary period. And it's good if they are restored in the same place, because it is sanctified.

How to draw a temple - Christian Orthodox?

Let's start creativity! We chose a simple Orthodox Church of the Intercession. We will need: a dense paper, wax crayons, a glass-non-spruce, brushes (preferably natural), watercolor paints, erasers, pencils.

Step 1. How to draw a temple?

First determine the horizon line. The structure stands near the river and is reflected in the water. We map the boundary of the earth and water.

Step 2. Draw the outlines of the temple (for the child you can create a special template). We plan a mirror image of the building in the river (with softer tones). We remind you that at this stage we are working with colored wax crayons.

Step 3. The walls of the temple are painted in white. The dome is yellow. Reflection in the river does not need to be painted over. We depict trees on the ground around. In the sky - the sun. On the water let ripple light blue or white. This completes the work of the crayons!

Step 4. And now - the most interesting! We take the crayons, they will not be needed any more. Then you need to soak the watercolor and draw the earth, the sky, water sweeping and large strokes. Remember: the water is always darker than the sky, the earth is darker than water. This should be the case in the figure. Do not be afraid to paint over the image previously drawn by crayons. It, after the drying up of the watercolor, must definitely appear!

Another way to draw a temple

Although Orthodox architecture has its own centuries-old traditions, it is possible to depict the structure beautifully and without knowing them: the main thing is to observe the basic laws of graphics and painting.

Step 1. On the piece of paper A4, on the right side of it, draw a line - vertical. From the same point from which we started the construction of the line, we draw two inclined, divergent at the same angles.

Step 2. Like the previously constructed scheme, you need to finish the left part of our drawing. A parallelepiped should exit. Its angle is at the bottom point, there we must come together all the lines. The dotted line denotes the edges and the base of the parallelepiped itself. In the center, we draw one line. This is the reference point for building a dome. On the sides we draw vertical lines in the number of four.

Step 3. Draw a line - an arc-shaped - curved upward. This is the base of our dome. Downward draw the boundaries of the tower with the bell. It should, as it were, come out from the base of the dome and end on the roof of the lower tier of our temple. The upper edge of the dome resembles a bulb with a pointed end.

Step 4. And on the left, on the sidewall - the wall of the lower tier of the structure - we mark three half-cylinders. Their height corresponds to the size of the temple. To them we finish pointed canopy. The roof of the building is decorated in the form of curved arches.

Step 5. On the right wall of the temple we draw a door, above it - two or three windows. On the bell tower also draw a few windows. They are oblong narrow shapes.

Step 6. Continue the lesson on "How to draw a temple in stages?" Using a simple pencil, we shade the dark sections of the towers, as well as the windows and doors. Using the hatching, we give the temple cupola a volume. Draw a shadow that falls from the building and the bell tower. Almost everything is ready. It remains to remove unnecessary sketch lines. You can erase the shadows with the eraser - somewhere lighter, somewhere darker. Now you know how to draw a temple in pencil step by step.

Colorize

This is the image we have with you, you can also paint in addition with paints or mascara, if you want.

Step 1. We produce mascara with ordinary water one to one. We dip a finger in it and rub the right turret. We also act on the left!

Step 2. The dome and the roof are covered with yellow - in exactly the same way.

Step 3. Walls are painted with emerald green paint, you can add ocher.

Step 4. Over the dome and the roof, we make "washouts" of a gray-blue hue.

Be sure to let the drawing dry out. Now it can be enclosed in a frame and hung on the wall. And you can give someone such beauty!

Additional advice on how to draw a temple: just like (only with the application of a brush), our drawing is painted with gouache or watercolor. In this case, it will look different, but not less attractive.
