Then it is inserted into the cap, its end is applied to the motor housing.

Unplug the cap from the wire, take measurements. The probe of the multimeter is inserted into the hole for the candle. The other joins the pin, to which the wires fit. In case the cap is working, the multimeter will show about 5 kOhm. On most modern scooters, high-voltage wires, a spark plug and an ignition coil are made all-in-one. All these details are filled with rubber or compound. And so you can test the cap, the wire and the ignition coil in the complex. One of the probes of the device is inserted into the candle hole on the cap. The second is connected to the ignition coil. So identify the resistance on the primary and secondary winding and the high-voltage wire itself. Indications on the primary winding should be from 0.1 ohms to 0.4 ohms. Resistance secondary - from 6.35 Ohm to 9.7 Ohm on most scooters. Sometimes a high-voltage wire becomes unusable. To replace it you need a cable with a metal core. An automotive element with carbon filler is not suitable for this procedure.

Wiring Breaks

This happens very often, especially on scooters made in China. Here, wire breaks in the ignition system are possible. The cause may also be oxidized contacts and terminals. Scooter repair, produced by yourself, in this case consists in checking the integrity of all the wires in the ignition system. Also pay attention to the terminals. If the contacts are oxidized or keep loose, then they should be cleaned and clamped. It is not superfluous to check the wire that comes from the switch. Make sure the connection is secure and the terminal is clean.

Failure of the components of the ignition system

This is not a common cause. But if the spark on the scooter is gone and there are no apparent reasons, then it is necessary to test the switch, coil, generator winding. You can check all these devices with the same multimeter. To make sure that the winding and the pulse sensor are in good condition, one probe of the tester must be connected to the wire from the sensor and the other to the engine casing.

A normally functioning impulse sensor has a resistance of about 500 ohms. The resistance of the winding of the generator is two to three times less. If the multimeter shows infinity, then one of the components is out of order. It should be replaced with a new one. If the value is less than 150-200 Ohm, then the problem is in the feeding coil, and therefore the spark disappeared on the scooter. What to do in this situation? Buy a new generator. Such a device is subject to repair, but in the absence of time it is better to just replace it. Benefit the cost of the generator is small.

Switch

His location will find even a beginner. This is a plastic box with a terminal block. To it fit multi-colored wires. The switch is necessary for controlling the operation of the ignition system. Both the commutator and the ignition coil are made non-separable. If the element fails, then problems can only be solved by replacing. The price of these items is low - up to 500 rubles. In some SRTs there are special devices that allow testing the switch. However, in order not to search for the appropriate services for a long time, the easiest way is to purchase a new switch. In the process of finding the cause of the failure of the switch, you do not need to listen to "experts" who claim that the breakdown happened due to driving without a battery. This is an untrue opinion. The fact is that in modern scooters the power supply system, as well as the ignition system does not depend on each other.

Check the circuit before the ignition switch

To do this, connect the test lead of the tester to the wire from the commutator pad to the ignition switch. The key in the lock is turned to the "off" position. The tester should show 0 in this position, and infinity in the locked state of the lock.

Clearance of a candle

The clearance at the spark plugs is an important factor for the correct operation of the engine. This parameter plays an important role in the process of spark formation, ignition of the fuel mixture, effective operation of the scooter in the entire range of revolutions. The clearance should be specified in the documentation for a specific scooter - this parameter can vary from manufacturers. Generally speaking, for most modern four-stroke Chinese and Japanese mopeds, the spark plugs clearance is from 0.5 to 0.8 millimeters. It is necessary to monitor this parameter. For this reason, a spark may be lost. She leaves because of too much clearance.

Fuse Block

Many scooter models are equipped with short-circuit protection systems. If there is no spark, you need to find the fuse box and check all the elements in it. The fuses often burn, and they must be replaced. Then the technique will be back in order.
