A bit of history

The end of the 70s of last century was remembered by the lack of sports motorcycles on the market, at that time only road models were produced. High-speed American cars only began to develop. Engineers of the Japanese company "Suzuki" took the existing heavy two-wheeled motorcycle Suzuki GSX-1100 and based on it created the model Suzuki GSX-1100F. Maximized the weight of the car and significantly increased maneuverability. However, a powerful heavy engine remained, and "Katana" (the so-called new bike) became disproportionate in terms of power and real weight by a motorcycle.

Next was created a line of sports "Katana" tourers, which began to be produced as Suzuki Katana GSX 600, with a motor of 599 cubic meters of working volume.

Until the early 90's motorcycles "Katana" looked like ordinary "road workers", with a highly located fuel tank and a straight-shaped seat. But soon in the exterior of the bike there were changes: at first the engine was completely covered by fairings, the seat smoothly passed into the rear wing and was sharply lifted up at a large angle. Thus in the guise of Suzuki Katana appeared long-awaited sports and racing contours.

However, in order for a motorcycle from the "road man" turned into a full-fledged sports bike, one change in external data was not enough. A radical modernization of the entire technical part was required.

The first generation of the model "Katana 750F" was produced in the period from 1988 to 1997, with an engine capacity of 106 hp. The design of the motorcycle was already outdated at that time and required a deep restyling.

The technical characteristics of the "Catana 750 F" almost coincide with the parameters of the "Katana 600", motorcycles differ only in the volume of the fuel tank, (20.5 liters for "Katana 750 F" vs. 20 liters for "Katana 600").
