High-voltage wires: application and classification

High-voltage wires are the most popular type of cable products. The material is indispensable in cases where it is required to transfer electric power of increased power at a voltage exceeding 35 kV. Most often the high-voltage wire is used to transfer the electric current pulse to the spark plugs from the coils.

Quality products must have the following characteristics. First, the transfer of momentum should occur with minimal loss of electricity. Wires should maintain their characteristics and properties in the temperature regime from minus 30 to plus 100 degrees Celsius. And also withstand voltage up to 40 kV.

By its design, high-voltage wires consist of insulation (protective layer), caps, metal contacts and conductive conductors. The last element can be made of stranded copper, made of thin metal wire with dielectric upholstery. In addition, the vein can be non-metallic, having a high voltage distribution .

For insulation use a single-layer or multi-layer coating of a dielectric material (plastic, silicone, rubber). The protective layer carries the following functional load. It prevents the leakage of electricity, protects the veins from the harmful effects of combustible lubricants, high temperatures, moisture, harmful fumes, and mechanical damage.

Contacts or metal tips ensure electrical connection of the conductors to the distributor cover, contact candles or ignition coils. Caps are used to protect the connections from aggressive environmental influences, and also prevent the leakage of electricity.

High-voltage wires are divided into several groups. Mounting provides inter-unit and internal connections of instruments and electronic equipment. Ignition wires are widely used in various fields. They participate in the ignition chain of jet engines, combustion engines, powerful lighting equipment. These materials are used in conditions of high temperatures, stresses and pulses. They are used in road transport, to which requirements are imposed on interference suppression.

Pulse wires transmit electric current in radioelectronic and electrophysical devices. They allow us to distribute a limited number of powerful oscillatory and periodic pulses. Flexible high-voltage wires also spread. They are used in mobile current collectors to transmit low-power potential.

Many famous companies are engaged in the production of cable materials. Tesla high-voltage wires have a good reputation. These high-quality materials are used in various fields. The ignition wires of the Czech concern "Tesla" form the basis of the entire automobile assortment. They are used to transfer current from the toggle switch to the spark plugs of the car.
