History of creation

AS Pushkin took as a basis for his novel a real story that occurred with the landowner Ostrovsky in the early 30's. XIX century. Then the estate was taken from him, but the peasants flatly refused to accept the new master and went to the bandits. This story greatly shocked Alexander Pushkin, who always strove to limit arbitrariness and protect human rights.

Plot

The author of the novel "Dubrovsky" created a very interesting narrative in terms of the plot. So, the work begins to grab the reader literally from the first pages. Speech in the novel is about the not very rich landowner Dubrovsky, who faced the oppression of a richer neighbor and a former friend of Troyekurov. As a result, through the fault of a comrade goes crazy and then dies Dubrovsky, and the estate goes to a neighbor. The son of Dubrovsky, Vladimir, can not accept this and burns his property. However, inside there are officials, and he is charged with murder, in connection with which he chose to hide.

The work ends tragically - the main characters of the novel "Dubrovsky" are separated. Maria marries another on the orders of her father, and Dubrovsky's gang is surrounded and defeated. However, he disappears, and his fate remains unknown.

The main heroine of the work is Maria Troekurova. This is a young girl who has strict moral principles. She falls in love with Dubrovsky, who appeared in the house under the cover of the teacher Deforge, but refuses to flee with him and marries another unloved person at the behest of his father. When Dubrovsky stops them right after the wedding and asks her to run along with him, she again refuses, although she loves him, and explains this by the fact that the engagement has already taken place. But the love of Vladimir and Masha ends tragically.

The author condemns this situation, which is why the ringleader of the gang is a positive character.

Also in the work is clearly marked the topic of corruption, because in fact, Troyekurov had no rights to the estate of Dubrovsky, but with the help of money he could arrange everything properly.
