The composition of the drug Proctosedil (ointment) includes hydrocortisone. This glucocorticosteroid has a pronounced antipruritic and anti-inflammatory effect, reduces serous discharge, permeability in the vessels. In addition, the component prevents proliferation and exudation of the connective tissue of the inflammatory focus.

In the composition of the drug Proctosedil (ointment), butylaminobenzoate and ethylaminobenzoate are also present. These components, being local anesthetics, quickly and for a long time eliminate the itching and pain in the area of the anus (anorectal area), as well as spasms of the anal sphincter.

Esculoside, which is part of the drug, helps to reduce fragility in the blood vessels, especially - the capillaries.

Framicetin is an antibiotic and is part of the group of aminoglycosides intended for topical (external) use. This component, having an increased bactericidal property (kills pathogens), affects a number of infectious agents, including proteins, streptococci, Klebsiella and others.

Heparin, also part of the drug, is an anticoagulant. Its action is aimed at preventing the development of possible thrombotic complications in hemorrhoids.

The effect of the drug Proctosedil (ointment) appears after a few minutes after application. The duration of the medication depends on the duration of its presence in the area of inflammation.

The medication is not prescribed for fungal, viral (including herpetic), tuberculosis skin lesions of the anorectal region, hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
