Pharmaceutical "Quix", the instruction for use includes this information, is a hypertonic solution of local action. It is based on the water of the Atlantic Ocean, the salt content of which is optimal - 2.6%.

The anti-edematous effect of the drug is achieved through the action of a hypertonic solution, causing a change in osmotic pressure. As a result, the excess fluid moves from the mucous membranes of the nose and its sinuses into the nasal cavity. Due to the produced osmotic effect, the swelling of the mucous membranes in the upper respiratory tract is significantly reduced, which undoubtedly greatly facilitates nasal breathing.

The medicinal preparation "Kvix", the instruction on application specifies, also has mucolytic effect. It consists in increasing the isolation of tissue fluid from the intercellular space into the nasal secret, activating the mucociliary transport of mucus, eliminating allergic and microbial particles.

Microelements and minerals that are part of the medicament "Kvix" (spray), can significantly improve the energy metabolism processes occurring in the ciliated epithelium of the mucous membranes of the nasal cavity, as well as activate liquefaction of mucus.

The direct bactericidal effect exerted by the hypertonic solution of oceanic water, suppresses local inflammation of the nasal mucosa.

Before the irrigation procedure, it is necessary to remove the outer cap and press the sprinkler several times, then carry out the injection, then disinfect the tip and put on the cap.

Immediately after the injection, a slight burning sensation may be felt.

The considered means is appointed already from three-monthly age.

Small patients are recommended to make one or two injections in each nasal passage. The interval between treatment procedures should be at least eight hours (maximum three times a day).

Adult patients are shown on 1-3 irrigation in each nostril up to three times a day.

It is not forbidden to use this medication for a long time, it does not cause habituation.

Systemic undesirable effects, manifested against the background of the use of the drug, are not fixed.

The only contraindication to the use of the drug is the individual intolerance to sea water.

During the period of gestation and breastfeeding the drug can not be used.
