Childhood and youth

Sonia Karpunina was born on June 3, 1985 in Moscow. A girl was born in the family of specialists in the field of banking. Initially, the girl did not consider the creative profession as the occupation of her whole life. Parents wished that Sonia would repeat their fate and make a career in the financial sphere. In school years, the girl dreamed of becoming a surgeon. However, the family did not support her in this endeavor, and the intention to enter the medical college gradually disappeared. The result was the enrollment of our heroine in the State University of Economics, Informatics and Statistics. About a year Sonia Karpunina worked in a bank in Moscow.

Soon the girl became clear that she was too far from the world of finance. The future artist left work, after which her parents sent her daughter to London for language courses. This period has become for her a transitional period. It was hard for Karpunina's son to settle in a strange, unfamiliar country. For a long time she suffered from a lack of communication with family and friends.

Upon her return from England, Sonya told her parents that she intended to enter the State Institute of Cinematography. After a while the girl was enrolled in the faculty of directing. Already in the first year Karpunin began to write scripts, as well as work on the creation of short films.

Film-making

As a director, Sonya Karpunina debuted in 2010. The first work for our heroine in this field was the author's short film "Marina". In the center of the plot is a young shepherdess who grew up in a mountainous area under the care of a caring grandfather. Soon the guardian of the main character disappears from life, and Marina begins to understand that real life has nothing to do with children's fantasies. The girl is inspired by the slogan "What does not kill, makes us stronger" and finds the strength to cope with sad circumstances.

It is worth noting that the short film "Marina" is the graduation work of Sonya Karpunina, with which the artist was released from VGIK. Despite this, the film managed to visit the rotation of the popular film forum "Kustendorf" and win the sympathy of Emir Kusturica.

The first full-length tape

In 2012, the first full-length work of Karpunina as a director appeared on the wide screens. Such for the young actress was the tape "Everything is simple." It is noteworthy that the script for the film Sonia was prepared during her studies at the last university courses. The girl was among the few students who wanted to present as a thesis a full-length film with a long time-frame. However, at the time, Karpunin had neither the means nor the team to do it. In the end, Sonia still managed to implement the project, but at the age of 26.

The film "Everything is simple", in which, incidentally, Sonya played the main role, tells the story of a student named Nadia. The latter does not know grief, studies in London and enjoys the consistency of parents. All would be nice, but the girl's favorite girl remains in Moscow, not wanting to lose perspective work. Suddenly, Nadia decides to visit the young man, returning to Russia. But only the capital presents her disappointment. The girl meets old friends who show her the other side of life, full of betrayal, hopelessness and lack of prospects.

With her beloved Clim, the artist began to meet in 2012 and soon got married. Young people met at a gathering of actors, directors and screenwriters who worked on the project "Everything is simple." Soon between the talented artists fastened romantic relationships. Sonya and Clim moved closer to the background of their love of cinema and became just an inseparable couple. Currently, Karpunina and Shipenko continue to stay together, are engaged in directing activities and are building great plans for the future.
