In fact, they are used in a variety of ways. For example, ripened berries are served as a dessert (like a melon), they are made of mashed potatoes and added to salads. In European markets, papaya dries in the form of candied fruit is more common. In their manufacture, undoubtedly, additional dyes, preservatives and sweeteners can be used, but still useful substances are kept in sufficient quantity to recommend berries for consumption. In recipes for salads and meat dishes quite often used papaya green (these are the same berries, but in an immature form). Despite the fact that the juice of an immature plant is considered poisonous, it is still used in a variety of recipes. The secret is that ripe fruits can be consumed without heat treatment, and unripe fried or baked.

Those who do not know how to eat papaya, as never tried, you can recommend starting with ripe berries in raw form. To fully enjoy all the taste characteristics of the plant, you can visit one of the countries where the melon trees grow, as the fruits are not stored for long and they are not collected for export, which affects the final properties. If such a trip is not planned for the near future, you can try to buy a fruit in the market or in a supermarket (it should be stored in the refrigerator, like most fruits), and even better confine candied fruits.

For those who are perfectly familiar with the taste and aroma of the fruit of the melon tree, there are several recipes for how to eat papaya in an immature form as a component of an exotic dish. For example, you can prepare green berries with minced meat. This requires: a pound of low-fat minced meat (beef, turkey, chicken), as much papaya (it should be green, cut into 2 parts, without seeds), 3 large tomatoes, a little creamy and vegetable oil, 50 gr. Grated parmesan, large onion, garlic, chili pepper to taste, black pepper, salt, spices (thyme, oregano), sugar. First you need to boil the papaya, for this, it is placed for 10 minutes in salted boiling water.

Minced meat is cooked in a frying pan, fry onion, meat, salt and add garlic and pepper. Then, the halves of the berries are placed on oiled parchment, stuffed and baked in the oven for about half an hour. Almost ready dish sprinkled with cheese and spread on top of butter, then left for another 10 minutes to bake. Before you eat papaya, it is poured with a sauce prepared from blender-blended tomatoes, stewed with salt, sugar, pepper and herbs.
