How to configure sound on Windows 7 using the driver

One of the key issues that most PC owners have to deal with is: "How do I configure the sound on Windows 7?". If before the only source of sound was the system speaker, now the manufacturers offer good multi-channel solutions. However, their potential may remain unrealized if you do not know how to configure the sound on Windows 7. This task can be solved in various ways, the choice of which depends on the requirements of the user. So, one is enough that the system can at least something to reproduce, the other wants ASIO support, and the third, while reading how to adjust the sound on Windows 7, seeks to achieve deep and clean frequencies.

Start

For audio output and processing in any computer, an audio adapter, or a sound card, is responsible. Physically, it can be a separate map from the textolite on which the chips and the strapping elements are placed. For connection to the system board connector, a slide of the sliding contacts is provided. This solution is called discrete, it often allows to achieve acceptable sound quality.

The second option is represented by the built-in device. It consists in the fact that the chip is placed by the manufacturer on the motherboard, therefore some elements (power supplies) are used together. Simple and cheap. However, the quality is not always at the proper level.

In order for the card to play the audio stream, it is necessary to install a special control program - the driver. Users interested in how to adjust the sound on Windows 7, it is worthwhile to know that sometimes the banal driver replacement for the new version (they are periodically updated by the developers) allows to achieve better sound quality. In addition, new program settings are sometimes added to the interface.

Conclusion: the driver to be installed must be one of the latest versions, and not the one offered by the operating system.

Adjustment

In the control panel there is a section "Sound". Here you can specify the device that the system will use to output the default sound. Particularly relevant for computers with multiple audio solutions. Recently, there are more such, since even video cards are given the ability to output audio stream. All unnecessary components in the list should be disabled (right mouse button).

If you now point to the main device, the "Properties" and "Configure" buttons become active. In the settings you need to specify the desired mode of operation - stereo or multichannel. By the way, setting windows allows you to more conveniently place on the screen elements - to see what and what is configured.

After that you need to open the "Properties". Here in the improvements tab you should disable (!) All unnecessary. Is it possible to leave the compensation of tones and equalizer (for fans of high or low frequencies).

The "Advanced" tab allows you to specify the output format. It is noted that if anything other than "16 bit, 44 kHz" is set, then the equalizer after each reboot is inactive. For all other cases, it is recommended to select "24 bit, 96 kHz".

The sound setting on the laptop is similar.
