GAZ-3507: general description and characteristics

Reliable automotive equipment, used for various transport operations, has always been and remains revered in the consumer environment. One of such widely demanded cars is the GAZ-3507, the characteristic of which will be presented in this article.

Purpose

This truck serves for transportation, as well as mechanized unloading of agricultural products and goods, bulk materials for construction purposes (gravel, sand, etc.). It is important to note immediately that the transportation of concrete mixtures and other mortar with the help of GAZ-3507 is prohibited. Also, the use of a truck as a dumper working on quarries is not allowed.

Historical reference

The GAZ-3507 was launched at the Gorky Automobile Plant in 1984. In the process of creating the machine, priority was given to maximizing the unification of its units and assemblies. Thanks to this, the truck received a large number of structural elements from its "progenitor" (3307), which ensured the affordable cost of the car as a result.

The design was also left practically unchanged, the driver's cabin was improved only slightly. In addition, the model 3507 received a 152 mm rear frame, shortened, and a special device was used instead of the towing hooks.

GAZ-3507, the technical characteristics of which are listed below, is fairly simple to operate and maintain. As the main indicators of the truck is worth noting these:

General description of the device of the truck

GAZ-3507, the photo of which is presented in the article, has a unique design, which makes it possible to unload from three sides (left, right, back). Also the machine has additional boards. The platform rises due to the activation of a hydraulic cylinder of telescopic type, which has retractable links. In what direction to ship the contents of the body, the driver chooses independently, for this he will need to release the removable pivots of the hinges located at the base of the platform. If the body needs to be turned to the left, then the right hinges are released, if to the right - then the left ones, if backwards - the two front ones. This body is in demand because the time of its unloading is minimal.

From the engine to the platform, energy is transferred through a power take-off box, which is controlled from the driver's cab with a lever that has two positions: "lift" and "neutral". On the body of the box is fixed an oil pump made of stamped sheet steel and equipped with a filter and a stopper for air vent.

The driver's cabin is quite comfortable, but in terms of its comfort it is much inferior to all its Western counterparts. During the ride, vibration is very strongly felt in it, and noise insulation is practically absent. The manual transmission of the truck has four stages and is endowed with a high degree of reliability. There is also a dry single-plate clutch and a single hypoid main gear. The steering mechanism provides a globoid worm and a three-ridge roller.

GAZ-3507 was produced by the plant without taking into account the requirements of comfort. In particular, the car does not have a hydraulic power steering, and therefore it takes an impressive physical effort to turn the steering wheel. The instrument panel of the machine is equipped with sensors from the previous model and has a slightly redesigned appearance. Each device makes it possible to monitor all the key truck systems.

Typical malfunctions

The most problematic place for a motor vehicle is the body. This is due to the fact that it is very poorly protected from external factors, and in case of exceeding the permissible load (it happens very often), it simply begins to diverge, welded seams tear. In some cases, users begin to strengthen the structure of the body with additional channels and slats, but this does not bring the desired result. Also, the problem zone is the hydraulic cylinder, on which the cuffs periodically begin to flow.

In general, any serious difficulties, any failure of the car from the driver does not cause, as there is no shortage of spare parts for this car, and their cost is very democratic and affordable.
