MSC: decoding of the term

KBM - what is hidden behind the abbreviation? This is the so-called bonus-malus ratio, which depends on the length of the driver's experience and the number of accidents that have happened to him. This rule for someone may seem superfluous. However, its goal is to encourage drivers to drive the car neatly. After all, no one needs to repair repairs without repairs. And without losses, the profit of the insurance company will only increase.

To better understand the value of KBM - what does this mean for this parameter, it's enough to think about the phrase "bonus-malus". That is, it is about some kind of reward, which relies on driving without incident. In OSAGO, the bonus is 5% for each year of accident-free driving.

But the question arises in further deciphering the concept of KBM: what is "malus"? If the owner of the OSAGO policy falls on his car in an accident, the culprit is, then the discount is canceled or reduced. But if in the accident you are not to blame, then it will not affect the cost of insurance in the next year. This condition will be maintained even when the accident was registered without the participation of DPS employees.

The reason why cost does not change in this case is very simple - OSAGO is a liability insurance, not a car. Of course, only the guilty party bears it.

When the company changes, does the MBM change?

In compulsory motor third party liability insurance, the calculation is not a simple task. The full insurance history of the driver is taken into account. Consider a few common options, how you can find out your coefficient.

  1. When servicing in the same insurance company, the data is stored in the internal database. Then, when a new policy is drawn up, the agent peeks into it and voices the final value.
  2. If the car owner wants to change the insurance company, then in order to save discounts, he must submit a certificate from the company in which he insured before.
  3. But even if there is no reference, there is an automated database of the PCA operator, which stores information about all citizens who have received policies. Nevertheless, it is best to personally monitor this process, because it happens that the information of the SC has not been made or there are failures in the system.
  4. On the official websites of some insurance companies, a special service is provided, which allows to calculate the MSC in the case of MTPL insurance. It is an online calculator service. At the same time, the driver is checked on the basis of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers.
  5. It also happens that some ICs are prescribed by the MSC in the policy. Study it carefully: is it the driver's name or the "special marks" of the coefficient. However, since this information does not necessarily need to be reflected in the policy, it is not infrequently entered.

How is it calculated?

And that is not all. The next time, when the driver will make out insurance, the price for it will increase by half, that is, KBM will rise to 1.5 times.   1. When vehicles are insured, which belong to foreigners (such cars are usually in Russia temporarily).
  2. When insuring trailers.
  3. With insurance for an extremely short period of time.

Overestimate the cost of insurance

Take into account - if you lose your MSC, it will take a long time to recover, and with it, finance will disappear.

How to save money?

So, we'll figure it out: how to make to pay for a policy less. Here, the following aspects are important:

  • Territorial coefficient. It is a question of the driver, the permanent registration of which in the province or in the village. For him, the cost of insurance will be significantly lower than that of a resident in the capital. Many townspeople who have relatives in the outback register TS for them and drive by car under a general power of attorney.
  • It is better to write in the policy of specific people who can be entrusted to the vehicle, than to buy insurance with the permission to drive everyone. Therefore, if an error occurs and your CBM is reset, then the following steps must be taken to restore it:

  • If after the error occurred less than a year, send a letter to the SAR with a request for verification;
  • To the letter should be enclosed copies of the driver's license and the old policy with the correct MSC;
  • If there is no answer more than a few months, you should contact the Central Bank of Russia, from where the correct MSC will be received, with recalculation.
