Diet in case of hepatitis c - treatment is necessary

The most severe form of viral hepatitis is hepatitis C. The disease develops as a result of the virus entering the human blood. The reasons for the penetration may be different: the use of a single syringe, contaminated tools, etc. In the first place, the liver is damaged, so the diet for hepatitis C should be aimed at reducing the load on this organ.

The diet for hepatitis C may be less or more severe, depending on the treatment and severity of the disease. But in any case, the diet is mandatory. Since proper nutrition with hepatitis C is one of the fundamental elements of treatment.

According to the patients, the diet with hepatitis C helps to reduce pain on the right side, relieves fatigue, facilitates the general condition. All products are selected according to the degree of influence on the liver. Therefore, one of the most dangerous is alcohol, its use is strictly prohibited. Also, the diet for hepatitis C excludes the consumption of fatty, roast and spicy. Caffeine is not recommended.

In medical practice, a diet for hepatitis C is called "table number 5". Most often it is prescribed to patients to reduce the load on the liver and restore its cells. The diet for hepatitis C involves the necessary amount of vitamins, as well as nutrients.

The daily norm should not exceed 3100 kilocalories. Be sure to contain proteins and fats (100 grams), 450 grams of carbohydrates, vitamins A, B, C, calcium, phosphorus, iron and magnesium, as well as nicotinic acid. It is allowed to cook dishes for a couple, bake in the oven and cook. Eat small meals four to five times a day. It is not recommended to use products with flavors and flavor enhancers.

Recommended foods and meals that include a diet for hepatitis C are:

  • Milk and dairy products;
  • Low-fat varieties of meat and fish;
  • Milk porridge;
  • Vegetable soups and side dishes;
  • vegetable stew;
  • Berries;
  • Fresh fruits and vegetables;

  • Teas (green, mint, chamomile);
  • Clean drinking water.

It is forbidden to use fatty varieties of meat and fish, salty, spicy, smoked, pickled and fried dishes, canned food, spices, muffins and most sweets, carbonated drinks and coffee.

In case of an exacerbation of the disease, a slightly different diet is prescribed for hepatitis C, namely "table number 5a". Its distinctive feature is a decrease in the intake of salt and fat. These restrictions make the diet more sparing, having a positive effect not only on the liver, but also on other organs.

The diet for hepatitis C is prescribed according to the prescription of the doctor, and its compliance is necessary. Even if there is no exacerbation of the disease, the diet remains mandatory. In addition to dieting, people with hepatitis C should get plenty of sleep and exercise.

Many patients about the discovery of hepatitis C are notified during pregnancy. This is not a very favorable factor, since the question arises: is breastfeeding permitted in hepatitis C.

The problem is that hepatitis C infection can be transmitted in utero. But when a baby is breastfed, the virus is not transmitted, even if there are microcracks on the nipples, as it is transmitted through infected blood.

Some doctors advise that if a mother has hepatitis C, resort to artificial feeding. But in general, breastfeeding is also quite safe for the child, since there were no cases of infecting the babies virus through breast milk.

Infection of a child with hepatitis C is not immediately apparent, but at the age of nine months to five years. In most cases, changes in the liver of children have the features of chronic hepatitis. So if a woman is sick with hepatitis C, she should postpone the birth of a child so as not to put his health at risk.
