Throughout the whole of world history, in various states, there has been a phenomenon such as a sociocultural (cultural) split. This concept is one of the "diseases" of society - an acute confrontation between social relations and culture, its values.

An ordinary person may not notice that society, country, culture and science, as well as morality and law, begin to lose touch, while he himself is a direct participant and, in some way, an "accomplice" to the development of the split.

Social science and sociology give a concrete and fairly clear answer - a split is considered the impossibility of finding a compromise in solving any issue, the opposition of the mentality of society to social relations.

The very word "split" characterizes a certain gap, separation from something, the cessation or rupture of various interrelations. For example, a split in the Russian Orthodox Church or a political split caused by ethnic or ideological signs.

According to numerous studies, in any developed state there can be a cultural split. The definition of social science of this concept says that this is the pathology of civilization, which hinders the normal development of society and the proper conduct of negotiations (lack of consensus), which contributes to destabilization of the society and the formation of conflict situations.

Signs of a cultural split

The imbalance between social relations and culture, science, education, as well as the non-acceptance by individuals of one stratum of society of other people, their opinions and thoughts, are all direct indicators of the existence of a socio-cultural schism.

In addition, there are other signs of its manifestation in the state:

• The formation of constantly opposing communities (the elite against the middle class and other social strata).
• The emergence of Protestant, revolutionary organizations.
• Differentiation of people into groups: more educated, advanced, sensible (minority), and ignorant, historically behind the group (majority).

Manifestation in society

In the whole society, beginning with its individual members, a cultural split manifests itself. This is identified by:

• Social instability.
• Termination of relationships within society.
• The rupture of relations between the state and the people, representatives of the spiritual elite and society, between representatives of power and the clergy.
• Intrapersonal cleavage.

These processes constantly disorganize a well-functioning system of society, and can provoke a large-scale conflict.

Factors of education

Non-observance of social laws and norms by the people, its desire to adapt to the arising contradictions, instead of completely eliminating them, provokes a cultural split. This definition, as well as those presented below, describe in detail the reason for the emergence of socio-cultural opposition.

In addition, the formation of such a phenomenon is provoked by the inability of each individual or a group of people to make and use significant innovations. That is, if the modernization of something is indicated in the state, and some part of the people refuses to accept it, or does not understand what it is for, a cultural rift may arise.

This misunderstanding and reluctance to bring innovations into your life can be caused by a low level or complete lack of democracy in the regime of state rule. Without proper attention to the people, reporting to every strata of the population, adjusting and changing innovations for them is not possible.

A split can be formed in view of the fact that innovations are received and accepted only among the ruling persons or the upper strata of the population. The confrontation and dissatisfaction of other members of society associated with this will gradually grow, and with them a cultural split, when, in turn, the possibilities for its elimination will be minimized.

Another factor provoking a cultural split is the absence of a moral ideal in society . If such a development of such a confrontation is almost impossible, since the moral ideal, recognized by society, ensures the unity of the people.

Than dangerous

Different representatives of the society, in the conditions of a cultural split and a crisis situation, in the struggle for their own interests, victory in the discussion, winning in the conflict, can go over the invisible border when fruitful negotiations go on endlessly "beating their heads against the wall." That is to the irresistible struggle of monologues, each participant of which considers himself a right fighter against evil.

Inversion logic, wrong, curves of the concept of morality - that is what cultural schism is based on. This definition means that to replace real, true human values, rules and order, absolutely opposite concepts are offered to the individual as truly true. Here, the inversion is aimed at resolving issues by emotional outbursts, negativity, directed at imaginary, unreal sources of discomfort. For example, a person is the place to try to solve the problem within himself, begins to blame the state, power, law enforcement agencies in his own misfortunes and mistakes.

The split has a serious impact on subcultures, whose prerogative is the return to historical sources, the abandonment of innovations and progress during the emergence of crisis situations. The cultural split here can provoke an attempt of one subculture to inflict an inversion strike on the opposite subculture, and, therefore, to discard the society in its development many years ago.

Methods of struggle

The split exists as long as the state itself exists. No matter how the society tried to stop its existence, it still remains, acquiring a gigantic size. According to the research, with every century the society ceases to try to eliminate the socio-cultural split, adapting itself to it, which provokes the formation of various pseudo-studies.
