As a rule, itching in the ears often worries patients in the cold season. The fact is that pathogens with a lowering of the outside temperature are concentrated in secluded places (for example, the ear canal), where the most favorable conditions are for them.

What diseases can cause itching in the ears? One of the most common causes is the presence of sulfur in the ear canal. And there are sulfur fuses, not from sloppiness, most often, this disorder occurs in the cleanse. The fact is that trying to clean their ears with a cotton swab and penetrating these instruments deep into the ear canal, people do not clean out sulfur, but, on the contrary, "compact" it, creating the notorious sulfur plugs.

In addition, itching in the ears often occurs in patients with chronic otitis, the same symptom may indicate the presence of an allergic reaction, fungal infection or eczema of the external auditory canal. Often ears are itchy in people suffering from diabetes and other endocrine diseases.

For example, itching is often manifested such a disease as otomycosis. This fungal infection occurs quite often, since fungi that provoke its development are present on the skin and healthy people. But in case of weakening of immunity or metabolic disorders, harmless before fungi "go on the offensive". Often the cause of activation of a fungal infection is a trauma or permanently increased moisture in the auricle, which can result from swimming.

Unfortunately, the first sign of otomycosis is itching, many ignore, and the disease progresses in the meantime, manifested by the appearance of secretions of dark color from the ear canal. In this case, patients begin to complain of a feeling of ear congestion and the appearance of noise. By the way, otomycosis is also more often affected by excessive champions of purity, which diligently clean not only the ears, but also the auditory canal. As a result of these hygienic procedures, the skin loses its natural protective coating, which prevents the development of fungi and bacteria.

Very often itching in the ears arises, as an allergic reaction, for example, when changing shampoo or shower gel. Possible occurrence of such unpleasant sensations and with constant use of headphones or specific headdresses, for example, swimming caps.

And how can you reduce the itching before visiting a doctor?
