History of English dessert

Chocolate pudding, the recipe of which was transformed from a recipe for sweet festive cereal with prunes, almonds and raisins, was served in an authentic way set on fire. To do this, it was abundantly watered with brandy or cognac. To date, this tradition has almost gone into oblivion and now chocolate pudding (the recipe will be given below), along with banana, milk and caramel, is a light dessert. It is appropriate as the completion of almost any meal. This dish has been repeatedly mentioned in the works of English classics (Lewis Carroll, Charlotte Bronte, etc.) with unchanged warmth.

You will need such ingredients for your dessert:

  • A quarter of a pack of butter;
  • A glass of white melkokristallicheskogo sugar;
  • 2 tbsp. L. Unsweetened cocoa powder (good quality - the brand "Golden label");
  • 2 tsp. White (wine) vinegar;
  • 2 full glasses of white flour or bread crumbs and as much milk;
  • 2 eggs;

For glaze you need half a glass of milk and a little bitter chocolate. Melt the butter and add sugar to it. Stir until the crystals dissolve, pour in vinegar extinguished soda. Turn it off and allow it to cool. Sift into a warm mixture of flour or sprinkle crumbs, pour in milk, add eggs and cocoa, stir until the lumps dissolve. Bake in oiled form for forty minutes or an hour in a water bath. Remember that pudding darkens strongly during preparation. For the glaze, melt the chocolate in the milk.

Orange miracle

Pudding chocolate with whole fruit inside is a very special treat. Being cut into slices, it is very festive and appetizing looks. It combines a slightly modified pudding recipe with chocolate and a piquant taste pre-cooked together with the peel of the orange. The oven will not be needed - the stove needs to be steamed. If you do not have a steamer, it will be replaced by a small container installed in a larger pan in which water should boil. It is better, if the form is round - so in each piece of cooked pudding there will be a little orange. Ingredients should be taken from the previous recipe, only flour should be pancake, and to cocoa it is necessary to add half a tile of dark chocolate for a more saturated taste. Select an orange with a thin skin. In addition to it, for the filling you will need 85 g of butter and small sugar. Cook the orange for ten minutes in a saucepan under a closed lid. Prepare the chocolate-oil mixture, as stated in the previous recipe. Then add the remaining ingredients and pour a third of the resulting mass into a greased form. On it you need to put a ready orange, punctured several times with a toothpick. Pour the remaining mixture. Closing the parchment, two hours of torment in a water bath. If water in a large saucepan boils, you should add it, so that it reaches the middle of the pudding container.
