Actor Justin Chon: Biography

Justin Chon is a 36-year-old American actor of Korean origin, best known for his role as Eric Yorkie in the movie Twilight.

early years

Justin Jong was born and raised in California. His mother is a pianist and a housewife. Father, Sun, worked in show business, was an actor in South Korea and often appeared in black and white cinema. As a child, Chon often watched his father's films, which inspired him to start an acting career.

Chon was educated in his hometown, Irvine, where he played the saxophone in a school orchestra, and then entered the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and received a master's degree in business administration. As part of the course, it was mandatory to study a foreign language, and so he began to learn Japanese, and later switched to Korean (the native language of his parents). To improve his ability to language, in the university study abroad program, Chon spent some time in South Korea. During the first semester, he lived in the hostel of the University of Yonse in Seoul.

Actor career

In the films, Justin Chong began to appear in 2005. His first roles were on such TV series as "Jack and Bobby" and "Taki and Lucy". Fame came to him in 2006, when he played the role of Peter Wu in the Disney film "Wendy Wu: The Queen in battle." He also played Tony Lee in the sitcom of Nickelodeon's "Just Jordan." In 2008, Jeon performed the role of Eric Yorkie in the movie "Twilight", based on the book by Stephanie Meyer, as well as in the sequels of this film. He appeared as the protagonist, Jeff Chang, in the film "21 and more," and then followed in the independent film "Innocent Blood." In 2014, Chon played the title role in Martin Scorsese's crime drama The Dragons of New York. In 2015, again, the role in independent cinema: Chon played a troubled teen in Benson Lee's film "In Search of Seoul," which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.

Directing career

Justin Chon is also co-author, director, executive producer and actor in the film released in 2015, entitled Man UP. The film premiered in 2015 at the CAAMFest Film Festival. The film was also shown at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. The film takes place in Hawaii. It tells about a 19-year-old loafer whose life turns upside down when his girlfriend, who is also a Mormon, became pregnant. Then he moves to his best friend Randall, who teaches him to be a man.

Chon is also the author of several short films.
