At low concentrations, it exhibits a pronounced bacteriostatic effect: it disrupts the synthesis of protein molecules by blocking the 30S subunits of the ribosomes. The use of high doses changes the properties of the drug: it disrupts the functions of membranes (cytoplasmic), causes death of microbes. The drug has activity against staphylococci (resistant to the action of penicillin), streptococci, Neisseria, moraxell, proteas.
