Already in the 1990s, for experimental purposes, rare subspecies of animals were brought into Chernobyl lands, the number of which has increased significantly today. Ukrainian scientists say that, thanks to the installation of photo traps, it has become possible to study rare photographs, which make it possible to state with certainty that even brown bears appear in Chernobyl , which are quite rare animals in the country.

At the moment there are several options for the further fate of the zone. It is planned to create in this area a unique nature reserve or return lands that have undergone natural purification for agricultural use.

The greatest influence of the nature of Ukraine is experienced in the course of economic activity of people, which is most clearly traced in densely populated areas with developed industry, which has a significant impact on the destruction of the natural ecological environment of man.

Intensive development and exploitation of untouched lands for agricultural needs leads to a decrease in humus content in the soil and, as a consequence, to a deterioration in the state of the environment, since a significant part of it disappears as a result of water and air erosion of the soil.

Human factor

The nature of Ukraine can be spoken endlessly, however, in order for it to continue to remain in this state, it is necessary to direct a lot of efforts to support and restore the natural environment in its pristine condition. Since 1980, according to data collected by the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature), about one species (subspecies) of animals or plants disappears during a week. Therefore, if timely measures are not taken, every 7th species of animals and every 10th species of plants listed in the Red Book of Ukraine will be under threat.
