A classic Mexican recipe for quesadilla, as well as a variant with chicken meat
Traditional recipe for quesadilla
To prepare 12 small portions you will need:
- 12 wheat or corn tortillas (can be replaced with lavash);
- 2 cups of thick, thick cream;
- 1 head of onions;
- 220-250 gr. Cheddar cheese;
- 1 small fresh chilli red or green;
- Spices - a little ground coriander, salt, ground chili pepper.
Quesadilla with chicken: recipe
Those who prefer dishes more potent, you can put meat or chicken as a filling in the cake. Approximately this number of ingredients you will need for 4 mouth-watering portions of the dish. Take:
800 g of chicken ground (of course, you can use any other meat); - 1 large onion head;
- 1 bunch of cilantro or parsley;
- 100 g of grated cheddar cheese;
- 6 tortillas or, for want of them, lavashi;
- 2 hot chili peppers;
- 200 g of pickled sweet pepper;
- Vegetable oil, salt and spices to taste.
Onions, chili peppers finely chopped, removing the seeds from the latter. Then fry in a frying pan with vegetable oil for a few minutes. After that, add minced meat and cook, kneading lumps, another 10-12 minutes. You should get a homogeneous, beautiful filling. Remove from heat and mix with finely chopped herbs, sliced with sweet pepper and grated cheese. The filling is ready. It should be put on flat cakes, as in the previous recipe, and fry in vegetable oil for the specified time. Also, a beautiful quesadilla with chicken is obtained if baked in the oven. To do this, in a preheated to 190-200 degrees oven, you need to place cakes wrapped in foil, and bake for 15 minutes. Using this method of cooking, you also slightly reduce the calorie content of the dish, since in this case no vegetable oil is used. To taste it will turn out not worse.
