Why do you always feel thirsty?

Most diseases begin with minor symptoms at first glance, which we sometimes do not attach much importance to or call them an alarm signal. If thirst is thirsty, we just drink, but do not rush to see the doctor at all. This can last long enough. And yet there comes a time when we begin to think more and more often about why we always want to drink. Especially it becomes suspicious when there is no heat on the street, and the appearance of a thirst was not preceded by intense physical work or a plentiful meal.

So why do you always want to drink? It is possible that we are not talking about a disease. Thirst is often the result of taking medications that cause dry mouth, or abuse of coffee, alcohol, salt.

As a rule, you want to drink while taking diuretics, certain types of antibiotics, expectorants and hypotensive drugs. Thirst is a constant companion of those who drink a lot of coffee and lean on harmful foods, such as chips, crackers, salted nuts and fast food. It is only necessary to leave bad habits and move to a healthy diet, as the problem with constant thirst will disappear.

If you constantly want to drink, then the presence of diseases is not excluded. Probably, any person knows that dry mouth and thirst is one of the most important signs of such a serious and common disease as diabetes. Therefore, noticing the habit of drinking often, one should immediately go to the therapist and ask for a special blood test. Patients with diabetes often live in ignorance for a long time and do not suspect their illness without receiving the necessary treatment. But only early diagnosis and timely help can save them from such serious complications as complete blindness and amputation of the lower extremities.

In addition, you always want to drink with kidney failure, when the body can not hold the fluid, provoking thirst. At the same time, water poorly leaves the urinary system, but accumulates in the tissues, forming edema.

Another reason for the constant desire to drink is a rare disease called "diabetes insipidus," in which the water-salt balance is violated and severe dehydration occurs. During frequent urination there is a withdrawal from the body of sodium.

Strong thirst also appears with hyperfunction of the parathyroid gland. The disease is accompanied by severe weakness and fatigue, an inability to concentrate attention, an aching in the bones, a kidney colic.

Increased thirst occurs with liver disease. It can be cirrhosis or hepatitis, accompanied by symptoms such as pain under the ribs on the right, nausea, yellowness sclera, nosebleeds.

And finally I want to say a few words about what drinks you need to drink to quench your thirst. It can be ordinary clean water, decoctions of plants (raspberry, currant, mint leaves), non-flammable tea (green or black), but not juices with preservatives or carbonated drinks.
