Where is the monument of Happiness and what does it look like?

About what happiness is, you can argue indefinitely, and that the most interesting - all versions will be true. This concept does not have a single precise definition. Meanwhile, the monument of Happiness not so long ago appeared in the city of Tomsk. What does this monument look like and what is the main idea of its creation?

Legendary cartoon

In 1982, the studio "Soyuzmultfilm" pleased the audience with its new creation. "Once upon a time there was a dog" - this is the name of this legendary cartoon, on which more than one generation of citizens of our country has grown. The director of the animated film is Eduard Nazarov, the roles were voiced by Armen Jigarkhanyan and Georgy Burkov. If you suddenly forget the plot of this famous cartoon, we remind you that he talks about the friendship and mutual assistance of a dog and a wolf. Two of these animals are enemies, the task of the domestic dog is to drive away wild predators. The wolf is the owner of the forest. He wants to profit agricultural animals and without hesitation comes into conflict with the dog, tamed by man. However, in a difficult life situation, a wolf and a dog begin to help each other. The story is good and instructive, but what does the monument to Happiness have to do with it? The thing is that this is how the people call the bronze sculpture of the wolf from the animated film "There Was a Dog".

The idea of creating an unusual monument

The main sponsor of the project was OJSC Tomlesstroy. It was at her request that a sculpture was made and installed. The Monument of Happiness was opened to the 400th anniversary of the city (autumn 2005). The composition of the composition involved: artist-consultant Leonty Usov and foundry Maxim Petrov. The place to install the monument was chosen especially carefully, and eventually managed to find a suitable site - one of the popular square of residents and visitors in the center. The sculpture was received positively by the public, today it is included in the list of the most original and interesting sights of Tomsk.

The bronze figure of the wolf is located on a low pedestal, faced with granite slabs. The sculpture depicts a cartoon character at the climax. According to the plot of the cartoon, the wolf crept under the wedding table and was full of various delicacies from the heart, after which he uttered his legendary phrase: "I'll sing it!" It's easy to recognize and remember this moment in the relaxed pose and bulging belly of the sculpture. But if someone else has doubts, the plaque adorns the plaque with the inscription "I'll sing it right now!". It is this correct name of the monument, but the people know it as a monument to Happiness. Such an inscription on the pedestal is also present.

To decorate the city with a bright and positive sculpture to its authors seemed insufficient. If you stroke the wolf on the stomach, he will tell you: "I'll sing right now!", "God help!" Or another catchphrase from the cartoon. Of course, in the original voice - the voice of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan. In total, the monument to Happiness (Tomsk) "knows" 8 different phrases from the film. Originally, the sculpture also planned to mount a webcam and delight everyone with a passer-by by individual treatment, but later it was abandoned. According to information from various sources, the sculpture electronics and so on from time to time breaks down and becomes a victim of the hands of vandals. Monument Happiness is so much liked by the inhabitants of Tomsk and neighboring cities that it was decided to create copies. Similar monuments appeared in Angarsk (2007) and in Krasnoyarsk (2008). But, despite the fact that today in our country there are only three monuments "I'll sing", the most famous is the first one, installed in Tomsk.

Responsiveness and mutual assistance - this is what modern people lack. The creators of the sculpture hope that the city with the monument of happiness will be good. And indeed, sometimes just some ordinary household things create a mood. Happiness has a mass of shades, but they invariably include: tasty food, satiety, the opportunity to sleep and other physiological needs. It turns out that the monument "I'll sing!" Reminds citizens of how to be happy and teaches to be kind to each other. Sculpture is very popular with local people, all tourists come to see it. The monument is photographed, there are many children around it. It's no wonder that the belly of the cartoon wolf is different in color from the rest of the pieces and is always polished with touches of a huge number of hands of tourists.
