Opera and Ballet Theatre

The Opera House (Odessa) was opened in 1810. Its first building was burned down in 1873. Instead, in 1887, a new one was built, the one in which the theater is located now. The architects who created the project of this building are Helmer and Fellner. The acoustics of the hall are so unique that even a whisper comes from the stage to any, even the most remote, corner of it. In 2007 the theater was completely restored.

On the stage of the Odessa opera were NA Rimsky-Korsakov, Leonid Sobinov, Isadora Duncan, PI Tchaikovsky, Anna Pavlova, Fedor Shalyapin, SV Rakhmaninov, Salome Krushelnytska and many others. Theatre of Drama

The oldest theaters of Odessa have existed for more than a hundred years. Among them is the Russian drama. In 2010, this theater turned 135 years old. The troupe preserves the old good traditions of dramatic art. In the hall of Russian drama, almost every evening sold out.

In 2002, the two-year reconstruction of the theater was completed. Then the troupe was renewed. She was replenished with young actors. The Russian Theater actively tours and takes part in festivals. On his account more than fifteen prestigious awards.

Theater of the young spectator

Odessa theaters, working for the children's audience, show performances with live actors on stage, puppet and synthesized. The most popular of these is the Ostrovsky Theater for Young Spectators. There is it since 1930. Initially, it was called a theater for children. Since 2014, the main director of the Young Spectators Theater is Svetlana Svirko. It is famous for its original productions not only in Ukraine, but also in Russia. In St. Petersburg and Moscow, they speak of her as a talented director. She was glorified by the experimental production of F. Dostoyevsky's "Uncle's Dream." The big success of the Theater for Young Spectators was due to the performance "Potap Yurlov". Its premiere took place in 2010. The performance was recognized as one of the best productions of Ukraine. Another loud premiere took place in 2012. This was the work "Warsaw Melody". The main role in the production was played by the famous actress Nonna Grishaeva.

The theater was awarded for its performances various prizes, awards, prizes and diplomas.

In 2010, the director of the theater was a young and very energetic person - E. Buber. Thanks to him, the Theater of Youth has multiplied its achievements and successes. Evgeny is a graduate of the famous Shchepkin school. E. Buber is a popular actor in Ukraine. In the end, he became a successful manager in the art sector. In 2015, Eugene received the title of "Honored Artist of Ukraine". On his initiative, the Nutcracker was staged in the Theater for Young Spectators, but in a dramatic version unusual for the viewer. The title of this play is "Princess Pirlipat". In 2011 this performance was recognized as the best performance for a children's audience.
