Check counterparty and yourself by TIN. How to minimize risks when concluding a contract?

Business reputation of a business partner is one of the most important moments of any business. On how much it will fulfill its obligations, will depend on the prosperity of your company. But how to check the counterparty and protect yourself from possible trouble? It is not so difficult to do this. You will need to know the minimum information about the future partner. It is often enough to know only the TIN. How can you verify the counterparty and protect yourself? Read more about this.

Why check?

Even a beginning entrepreneur knows: you want to minimize the risks of business - check yourself and the counterparty in all possible ways. Most often, large firms with well-established financial security service resort to such checks. Small companies, as well as single entrepreneurs, most often neglect such activities. And in vain. Check counterparty for free, quickly and reliably quite simply. You just need to know what exactly you should pay attention to.

What does the TIN mean and how to check its reality?

First of all, it is worth checking the counterparty for TIN. What it is? The INN stands for an individual identification number. It is assigned to every person or entrepreneur as a sign that he is on tax accounting.

You can find it using any search engine. It is worthwhile "hammering" the full name of the enterprise and you immediately receive a lot of information, including the company's tax ID. You can also do the reverse operation - by the TIN number you can find additional information about the company.

Sometimes, however, it happens that the INN seems to exist, but I can not find any information on it. It's worth thinking about. Perhaps the proposed number is not real and is just a set of numbers. And the company is one-day at the same time. You can check the counterparty and protect yourself in this case. There is a simple formula with which you can check the reality of the identification number. Any legal entity has a TIN of 10 digits. The first 9 we will use for calculations, and the 10th is a test.

Take the first 9 digits and multiply them thus:

  • 1st multiply by 2;
  • 2 nd - 4;
  • 3rd - 10;
  • 4th - multiply by 3;
  • 5 th - 5;
  • 6th - 9;
  • 7th - increase 4 times;
  • 8th - multiply by 6;
  • 9 th - at 8.

Now put all the results together and remember this number.

The number obtained as a result of addition, divide by 11. If the resulting result has a remainder, you need to discard the decimal part, and multiply by 11 again. Now compare the resulting number and the one that resulted from the addition of the works (we remembered it). You need to subtract one from the other. The resulting figure must coincide with the last, tenth digit. If everything turned out - the TIN number is real, it did not work out - it's worth thinking about.

How to find out the tax ID by the name of the company?

If you do not want to be asked tax questions, you must check the counterparty before concluding the transaction. If, in addition to the name, you do not know anything about future partners - it does not matter. You can learn the TIN. There are some small rules:

  • The name of the company is entered into the search engine without quotes;
  • Search must be performed in full name, without abbreviations;
  • Enter the name exactly as it is, even if there are spelling or grammatical inaccuracies.

Having found the necessary data, you can find out not only the TIN, but also some other data. Sometimes the difficulty may be that an identical name may have several firms. Then you can check on the type of activity or any additional information.

How to find a TIN for other details?

Check the counterparty by TIN is not difficult. But sometimes this data is not enough. If the desired firm has its own website, it is usually possible to find such details as the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, the State Register of Ukraine, or OGRN. All this can be useful for further verification. Having learned from the public sources as much as possible additional information, you can apply to the Federal Tax Service. A personal appeal, of course, is worth the money, but the expenses are justified. Tax check the counterparty will be very fast. You will be provided with extremely accurate and reliable information. For natural persons the certificate costs 200, and for legal entities - 400 rubles.

Collecting data on the counterpart: what to check?

If you are planning to conclude a deal with a new counterparty, try to get about it a maximum of information. You will need copies of such documents:

  • Certificate of state registration;
  • Certificate of the payer of taxes;
  • Bank details ;
  • License to conduct business (if any);
  • A copy of the company's charter.

The receipt of complete information about the counterpart includes the following items:

Basic data. These include: the surname, the name of the founder, the full name of the enterprise, TIN, the date of establishment, legal and physical addresses, information on whether this entrepreneur already has liquidated firms.

Information about the enterprise. Data on the legality of the firm, reviews, especially from independent sources.

Data on employees. Some firms conduct a large number of transactions through their employees, thereby diverting attention from the manager.

Information about the proposed transaction. Particular attention should be paid to the amount of the contract. If we are talking about cooperation with IP, then no one can talk about millions. If some LLC offers you a deal for more than 25% of the funds on the balance sheet of the firm, it is worth considering such cooperation. Information on the balance sheet needs to be demanded even before the signing of the contract.
