What is the size of the euro pallets, and what is its special feature?

Now it is impossible to imagine any enterprise, in whose warehouse there are no pallets - special containers designed for convenient transportation of heavy dimensional cargoes. Due to their versatility, these pallets are used practically in all branches of industry and economy. Thanks to them it is possible to carry out a fast loading of the goods and promptly send it to the destination. But, in order for the cargo to reach a safe condition, it should be properly packed and immersed on the surface of this shipping container. But today we will not talk about the correct packaging of goods, but consider the features of the most popular type of pallet in the Russian market, called the euro pallets. Dimensions, drawing and construction of this container we will consider in the course of our today's article.

Material

Most often this transport device is made of wood. Products are rarely found in plastic or metal. However, regardless of the material from which it is made, the size of the euro pallet is the same. Equal to them and the way of fastening. The cargo placed on the surface of the pallet is additionally wrapped with a special shrink film or belts. The exception is cargo, placed in the so-called "big bags" - polyethylene bags of huge sizes.

Lifting capacity

It should be noted that despite the lightness of the pallet itself (its mass does not exceed 10 kilograms), the mass of cargo carried on it can reach 2-2.5 tons. How is this possible? And this is achieved due to the thoughtful design of this container, in which there are wooden bars and boards, connected together by means of 100-millimeter nails. It would seem that such a simple structure should simply collapse under a mass of several tons, but no: thanks to the correct placement of the checkers and the alternation of the width of the boards (they have different sizes), the euro pallet can safely transport loads weighing several thousand kilograms. That's it, it's engineering.

What is the size of the euro pallets?

Do not confuse the euro pallets with its American counterpart, as both containers have completely different dimensions. The standard size of the euro pallet is 80x120 centimeters. At the same time, the "American" has dimensions of 100x100 centimeters. It is worth noting that this size euro pallets is not accidental. The fact is that just such a length and width of the container allows you to maximally compactly place the load on the platform of the semitrailer. And now more about this. The standard eurofoor accommodates up to 86 cubic meters of cargo. At the same time, the dimensions of the semitrailer are 13.6x2.45x2.65 meters (L / W / B, respectively). In such a wagon you can place exactly 33 europallets, no more and no less. And stack them in two ways - along (3 pieces) and across (respectively, 2). However, in any case, the distance from the walls of the body to the loaded container will be only a few millimeters.
