What is dangerous gestosis in pregnancy

Pregnancy in pregnancy is due to A violation of the general circulation of blood and the resulting inadequate functions of the internal organs - liver, kidneys, etc. This condition indicates that the body of a pregnant woman is difficult to cope with increased stress, providing both their needs and the needs of the unborn child. Signs of gestosis are well known. Initially, it manifests itself as edema, then the appearance of protein in the urine, and in the third stage - the increase in blood pressure (arterial hypertension). Pregnancy in pregnancy is an extremely dangerous complication, which requires the most serious attitude: it occupies one of the first places among a number of factors leading to the death of pregnant and parturient women.

It is very important to identify gestosis at an early stage, because at times it is difficult to draw a line between normal weight gain and pathological, the cause of which lies in fluid retention in tissues. Therefore, pregnant women should be weighed regularly. An alarming symptom is a quick set of kilograms in the second half of the term. Normally, after the 28th week of pregnancy, a woman should recover no more than half a kilogram per week. If this indicator is exceeded, she may be assigned an additional examination.

Identifying swelling during pregnancy is sometimes difficult - at first glance, they may not be visible. A woman should be alerted, for example, if it is difficult for her to take off and put on rings that used to be right, or if her shoes are tight. With a large set of weight, in the event that swelling is not detected during the examination, a pregnant sample can be made. This is a completely innocuous procedure: a certain amount of saline is injected into the skin. Conclusion on the presence of, or, conversely, the absence of concealed edema is made on the basis of the time of its resorption.

Since gestosis during pregnancy at its second stage is manifested by the presence of protein in the urine, strict control is needed: a woman waiting for a child should regularly take all the prescribed tests. Detection of urine in the urine, especially in combination with swelling and / or hypertension, is the reason for sending a pregnant woman to a hospital. Outpatient treatment of preeclampsia is not performed.

If the pregnant woman has only light, small edema of the legs and hands, the need for inpatient treatment, as a rule, does not arise. In order to cope with them, it is enough to simply limit the amount of fluid used. If swelling on the legs, it is useful from time to time to rest in a horizontal position, placing a pillow under your feet. You can also drink cranberry juice - it is an easy natural diuretic. Do not self-medicate and take diuretics, including broths of herbs, without the appointment of a doctor - this can cause serious harm to both the woman herself and the future child!

If the attending physician insists on hospitalization, do not argue with him. Pregnancy during pregnancy is rather insidious: a sharp deterioration in the condition can occur literally within a few days. He is dangerous for his complications: pre-eclampsia, in which, in particular, headache, drowsiness and nausea are noted, and eclampsia is a convulsive attack. Eclampsia may be complicated by a stroke or a heart attack, severe multi-organ failure, an ocular retina detachment. In the case of development of preeclampsia, an urgent cesarean section is indicated.

According to statistics, gestosis in pregnancy often occurs in women suffering from pyelonephritis, hypertension and diabetes. In the risk group are pregnant and over 35 years old, as well as those whose weight significantly exceeds the norm. Treatment of preeclampsia in the hospital is carried out, as a rule, for 2-3 weeks. Its symptoms completely disappear a few days after birth.
