However, even in multi-storey skyscrapers, where floors and ceilings are made of concrete, a wooden crate is often used as a basis for securing all subsequent components. This material perfectly preserves the heat in the room, and with proper handling and care it can last for more than one century, without losing its original qualities.

All wooden ceilings are based on the supporting beam. If the floor of the building is equipped, this beam is most often mounted in the foundation or can be nailed to the crate. As a rule, the supporting structures are stacked with a beacon method. It consists in the fact that at first the outer beams are mounted, most often along the perimeter, and after that the intermediate rafters are nailed. As a rule, wooden floors of houses are built on this principle. Often the thickness of the first significantly exceeds the given index for the latter. That is why it is important to make a preliminary calculation of the wooden joist beam, which will have the main load of the entire structure.

It is important that in the construction, all elements are perfectly aligned. Parallel beams should have the same distance between themselves on any segment, and perpendicular should form a strictly right angle at the intersection points. To check these indicators, you can use the ordinary level.

Wooden floors should not only be properly mounted, but also processed. Especially it concerns floors and basements, where the risk of moisture and dampness is great. The builders recommend that the edge of the bearing beams and rafters be treated with bitumen, and the floors themselves should be painted with antiseptic solutions. With the right approach, such designs will retain their original form and quality for a long period of time. And if you notice that part of the overlap has been exposed to water, this defect must be eliminated immediately, until the whole structure has swelled.
