The popular VVGG-LS cable is designed for wiring equipment in rooms, outdoors, electrical installations (channels, tunnels, pipes, trays, etc.) under the condition that there are no tensile loads on the product. The cable weight ВВГнг-LS allows to apply it for vertical, horizontal or inclined routes. This type of non-armored wire can be operated in places with vibration.

It is not recommended to use for underground laying (in earthen trenches and ground) without the use of special protective cable systems (for example, metal hose or HDPE pipes), which exclude damage to the conductor sheath and maintain its operational characteristics throughout its life.

Design features

  • The conductors are made of copper and can be single-stranded or multi-wire, have a sectoral or circular shape. GOST provides I or II class of flexibility.
  • The insulation of the cores is made of polyvinylchloride plastic compound, which has increased fire protection and reduced smoke emission. Each insulated core in multicore cables is made of PVC of different colors. Traditionally, veins zero have a blue color, grounding is yellow-green or indicated by the number "0".
  • The inner sheath of the cable is laid over insulated conductors, filling the voids between them and creating an additional refractory protective layer between the outer insulation and the core.

Quality control

The following control methods allow us to make a preliminary conclusion about the quality of the cable, if the values obtained from the regulated ones differ significantly. However, the final conclusion on the compliance of this material with GOST can only be made after conducting its tests in a specialized laboratory in accordance with strict procedures and in the volumes specified in the standard.

Visual inspection and measurement of dimensions

Visually, you can check the number and color of veins, the number of wires in the vein, the integrity of the shell and insulation, the ease of their separation.

With the help of measuring tools, you can check the thickness of the shell and insulation. Measuring the diameter of the wire and calculating the cross-section of the wires by a special formula does not apply to a strict method of control, since the correspondence of the section confirms the electrical resistance. But nevertheless, a significant deviation (more than 10%) of the calculated cross section from the nominal cross section may become the basis for doubt in quality.

The winding test after keeping at a low temperature

In this way, when you have a large freezer with a temperature of -15 ° C, the quality of the cable sheath is checked, the outer diameter of which is up to 20 mm. For this purpose, the length of the cable, folded for compactness into a ring (length approximately 1.2 m), is placed for 45 minutes in the freezer, then it is taken out and for 5 minutes the winding is carried out on the drum with a full turn.
