Unusual shelves on the wall without the cost

Agree, I want sometimes to supplement my interior with something original, but do not spend it! Let's try to do this with a kitchen shelf on the wall. This exclusive piece of interior in retro style will be made from an old box and, partially retaining its brutal appearance, will perfectly fit into almost any interior.

Making a shelf on the wall with your own hands

For work we need an old box, a drill, an empty glass jar of interesting shape, a varnish, a brush, a level, a screwdriver, hooks, screws, dowels, printouts of recipes.

To begin with, we will critically examine the box and, if necessary, lightly clean it and treat the internal surface with sandpaper. We put on it a layer of varnish and glue in an arbitrary order recipes. Thus it is necessary to drive air bubbles from the center to the edges, as when wallpapering. Then, when the paper dries, cover it with several layers of the same varnish.

While it dries, drill a couple of holes in the lid of the can and screw it to the bottom of our box from the outside.

Next to it, screw a few hooks.

Turn the box upside down and drill two holes in the back wall, this will simplify the suspension of the shelf to the wall, however, you can use special fasteners.

Apply the shelf to the wall, level it with the help of a level and draw a pencil in the arrangement of the holes.

If the wall is concrete, drill holes and block the dowels, into which we screw the screws. If the wood, just screw the shelf on the screws.

We screw the jar into the lid. All right, we finished making the shelf on the wall. The photos clearly reflect the whole process of work. You can make any changes to it. For example, paint the shelf in your favorite color. So it will look completely different, but not less interesting.

It remains to fill the shelf. It is convenient to store tea or cookbooks, you can pour sugar into the jar or place various small things in it, and hang the mugs on the hooks.

You can combine several such shelves and a pallet and build a whole rack of them.

We produce shelves for children

If you do not have a need for a kitchen shelf, then there is always a need in the shelf for children's toys and books!

We, as in the previous example, need a box that can be lightly sanded, if necessary.

We paint the box. In this case, white - in the tone of the walls.

We saw it in half. If there is no special table, an electric jigsaw or an ordinary hacksaw will do.

From two halves you will get two beautiful shelves. If you need a shelf of greater depth, just measure the necessary distance and cut the box, however, in this case you can only get one product. We screw to each special canopies.

All the shelves are ready. It remains only to hang them on the wall.

To magazines or notebooks do not fall between the slats, put a piece of cardboard on the bottom.
