Powdery mullet: how to get rid of his presence
Discovering the unexpected "leaf fall", plant owners sin on insufficient watering, lack of useful substances or, on the contrary, on their surplus. However, the cause of premature extinction and death of leaves may be small, but insidious pests. The mealy mammoth lurks on the inside of the leaves and in the sinuses, accumulating along the veins - it's easier to suck the juice. From the tiny white insect, the young young plants are seriously affected. Especially it is necessary to examine succulents, azaleas, cacti, citrus, monsters, Kalanchoe and hibiscus.
Of course, the most radical way is chemical. Poison will survive even a densely populated cluster of insects. In specialized stores you will be offered modern preparations that do not need to be sprayed. The substance dissolved in water falls into the root of the plant when watering, then it is delivered to the leaves with juices. The worms, having tried the poisoned dinner, gradually perish. Their shriveled carcasses are easily removed from leaves and shoots. To fix the results, watering is repeated two months later.
Another serious predator, which destroys small dirty fish is the beetle Cryptolemus. He belongs to a large and friendly family of ladybirds. It's only bad that this ally does not tolerate low temperatures.
And what if there is no possibility or desire to start any small living creature, but you have been tortured to death by mealybug? How to get rid of his disastrous presence? It's time to resort to proven folk remedies. Simply nowhere: prepare a concentrated solution of the economic (most simple) soap, take a cotton pad or sponge and gently wash off the insects along with their secretions. It's okay to leave a soapy coating until morning, and only then it is good to wash every leaf and twig. It is recommended to repeat the procedure regularly.
For delicate orchids, a delicate treatment with an emulsion of olive oil is used. It is prepared at home, for which two tablespoons of this oil are added to a liter of water.
Let's talk a little about prevention. Everyone agrees that it is better to prevent disaster than to tear and throw afterwards, looking for ways out of the current situation. Therefore, we monitor the health of our green pets, and all "newcomers" are subjected to a thorough examination and quarantine, to be sure that they do not live on mealybug. How to get rid of it - we learned, but the diseased plant is better not to be poured into the collective until it is fully recovered. Otherwise, a small parasite will gladly settle other plantations.
Keep your planting clean and drive away the ants. The latter love to absorb the sweet cotton wool left by the worms, gradually increasing their "milch" herd.
