Tulips can reproduce both seeds and bulbs. But in the seed progeny it is almost impossible to preserve the characteristics of the variety, so this method is used in rare cases.

New bulbs of terry tulips are formed in the maternal sinuses and mature around mid-July. In the room where the bulbs will be before planting, it is necessary to maintain a humidity of about 80%. The air temperature is maintained at 20 ° C in the first three weeks, after which it gradually decreases to 9-12 ° C.

When the planting dates are observed, before the onset of the winter, the rudiments of leaves and the flower-sprouting shoot are formed. In spring, when the soil begins to thaw, the shoots come to the surface and begin to develop fully.

Diseases and pests

Like all other varieties of tulips, terry are prone to certain diseases. The most common are penicillosis, bulbous sclerotinia, fusariosis, gray mold, bacterial decay, etc. Often there is variegation on tulips. This disease is transmitted through sucking insects and knives during the cutting of the plant. When detecting colors with signs of variegation, they must be removed immediately. This will prevent the spread of infection and save other flowers.
