Thermal insulation cylinders and their use

Thermal insulation cylinders have recently been used in municipal housing and in various industrial enterprises for the thermal insulation of pipelines. Their size and production technology depend on the material used. Cylinders are made of such materials as:

  • mineral wool;
  • Expanded polystyrene.

Issue two types:

  • Like a pipe cut along. The length of each of them does not exceed 2 meters. The diameter varies from 18 to 160 millimeters.
  • Of the two parts, which are installed overlapping with each other for greater tightness. They are produced in lengths from 1.5 to 2 meters and diameters from 32 to 530 millimeters.

Basic Characteristics of Heat Insulation Cylinders

Cylinders heat insulation from mineral wool have reliability in operation, ease of installation and a long service life.

The main characteristics of the cylinders are:

  • High environmental safety in operation;
  • Long service life;
  • Resistance to various external factors;
  • Convenience when installing on a pipeline;
  • The cost of purchasing and installing the cylinder is minimized, which allows you to save the budget.

Field of application of heat-insulating cylinders

When comparing specialists of all types of insulation, it was found that not everyone can withstand certain loads. Thus, for each field of application, the most suitable type of cylinder should be selected.

Thermal insulation cylinders made of polyethylene are recommended for use in small-diameter pipes in closed rooms. This is due to the fact that this material quickly absorbs moisture, and then becomes unusable.

Expanded polystyrene cylinders are the most versatile and popular insulation for pipelines. Thermal insulating cylinders are polyurethane foam - this is a heater, which differs from the others in the best quality. Such cylinders are resistant to rodents. It is best to use them for a pipeline that is underground.

The advantages of a heating cylinder

Thermal insulation cylinders have the following advantages:

  • Possess not only thermal, but also sound insulation;
  • Resistant to mechanical and chemical influences;
  • Good fire safety, resistance to ignition;
  • Good vapor barrier, which helps to restore the properties of the cylinder after drying.

Due to a number of its advantages, the cylinders of thermal insulation have been widely used in various fields.
