There was a bump under the arm: what to do?

A cone under the arm shows the development of such a disease as hydradenitis. It is a local formation of an inflammation of a purulent nature.

There are many reasons that contribute to the development of such a disease. The cone under the arm may be the result of a banal non-observance of the rules of personal hygiene. More often as a cause is the trauma of the skin during depilation or intense sweating, which leads to the creation of opaque zones.

The causative agent of hydradenitis is the bacterium staphylococcus, which enters the area through the lymph nodes and sweat glands. It is not difficult to assume that the neoplasm appears due to deterioration of the body, associated with the development of acute respiratory infections and a significant impairment of immunity. Provocators are also pathologies of the endocrine system, especially diabetes mellitus.

In this case, the patient observes the appearance of swelling, which increases with each passing day. When the disease begins to actively progress, the lump under the arm hurts and delivers a lot of uncomfortable sensations. At the next stage, the skin color changes in the affected area: the neoplasm becomes bright red, sometimes with a bluish tinge. The last stage involves the release of purulent fluid from the center of the cone. At this stage, the person suffers from malaise, the temperature rises significantly, which can be accompanied by nausea and vomiting. As an emergency measure, a lump is used to improve the patient's condition.

Cone under the arm: treatment.

Diagnosis of the disease can be after an external examination of the doctor, because the symptoms and clinical picture are very specific, and they are difficult to confuse with another infection. Nevertheless, a competent specialist must take a bacterial culture in order to study the microflora of this area. In the presence of the first symptoms, you should immediately consult a dermatologist to ensure a speedy recovery. Untimely treatment can lead to the fact that the course of treatment will have to be repeated many times. And in extremely difficult situations it is possible to help only surgically, when one has to remove the abscess.

Often the lump under the mouse disappears within one to two weeks with the correct approach to its treatment. Sometimes one has to resort to a stationary form of observation if the disease progresses rapidly and the patient's condition worsens. As a rule, antibiotics are appointed to completely kill the infection without subsequent relapse. It is recommended to use special ointments of antiseptic and healing nature.

As additional measures are prescribed vitamins, due to which there is strengthening of immunity. In no case can not apply warm compresses, as they only worsen the condition and contribute to the spread of bacteria to other organs. If such a situation has already occurred, then a complicated operation is performed to remove the focus of the infection.

It should be remembered that it is impossible to remove a bump under your armpit at home. Self-medication can harm, and not help, so consulting with a specialist in this matter is extremely important. Do not try to squeeze out pus or open a tumor! These actions form a favorable atmosphere for the transmission of infection through the lymph nodes to the circulatory system and further infection of all internal organs, for example, the lungs, kidneys, liver, and even the brain. Remember that a bump under the arm can cause blood poisoning, which is especially dangerous for children and the elderly, because it can lead to death.
