When six gods 9000 years ago decided to create a superhero, they found a teenager, endowed it with their own strength and sent to fight evil. He was called Captain Marvel, which corresponded to a combination of the first letters in the names of the gods.

For more than 3,000 years, he actively exterminated the evil until it was time to seek a successor. They became a guy named Adam. He was endowed with the same abilities, but boundless possibilities turned Adam's head and sent him along the dark path. For all the crimes he was exiled to the farthest star. Later he will be known as Black Adam. And Captain Marvel began to wait for a new successor. And he had to wait a long time.

Captain Marvel: DC Comics and Marvel

Despite the fact that initially comic books about Captain Marvel released the publishing house Fawcett Comics, in 1972 DC Comics was licensed for all characters from the "Marvel Family". After all, they believed that the image of the hero was taken from Superman.

Only while they argued, Marvel registered its Captain Marvel, so DC Comics simply could not use that name. So for the name of the comics about this hero began to use the trademark Shazam. And since 2011, so began to call himself a character.

The next superhero in a few thousand years was destined to become an ordinary boy, Billy Batson, whose parents were archaeologists. Once they did not return from the excavations, which helped their assistant. And later, his sister Mary Batson also disappeared somewhere. But this is not the end of the trouble.

After the tragic events the guy got to his uncle Ebenezer, who, having seized the money of his parents, drove Billy out into the street. He had to carry newspapers and lead a beggarly way of life. While in his life there was no mysterious stranger who took him to a place called "Rock of Eternity". There on the throne sat an old man - the previous Captain Marvel. At last he waited for his receiver.

Captain Marvel (DC Comics): Abilities

Now it was only Billy who had to say the word "Shazam!" - how he was struck by lightning, and he became a superhero with powerful abilities:

• Divine power. Captain Marvel (DC Comics) is considered one of the strongest heroes. In this regard, he is no worse than Superman.
• Divine power. Lightning not only turns Billy into Captain Marvel, she provides him with protection against various attacks, including magic attacks. In addition, he can use it himself as a weapon.

Marvel Family

This union he created himself. Once he had to help out a former classmate - Freddie Freeman, who was attacked by Captain Nazi. Freddie was seriously injured, but not dead. It turned out that he also had similar abilities. And if so, then why should not he be Captain Marvel the Younger?

A little later, the missing sister of Captain Marvel, Mary Batson, who also after the magic word (Shazam) turned into a miracle woman. Together they formed the Marvel Family grouping. And Black Adam was their main opponent.

"The Marvel family" played a big role in the events that occurred during the "Divine crisis". When the Specter managed to destroy the Rock of Eternity and release all the evil that was stored in it, it was the Marvel Family that was able to restore the rock and then become its guardian.

During this time, Black Adam managed to create his own group - "The Black Family Marvel", which consisted of Isis (his wife) and her brother Osiris. But soon they perished, after which Black Adam began to take revenge on the whole world. Therefore, Captain Marvel (DC Comics) was obliged to stop him. He summoned a lightning bolt that took his strength.

League of Justice

In another way, it was also called the International League of Justice. Captain Marvel entered it during the "Crisis on the Infinite Lands." He and several other heroes tried to save the multiverse created as a result of the intervention in the "Big Bang". This multiverse consisted of several parallel worlds, and all this had to disappear, according to the plan of the one who called himself the Antimonitor.

To stop it, a protagonist was created - Monitor. He assembled a team to save the remaining land. The conflict was so serious that almost all the characters of DC Comics took part in it. Ultimately, the Anti-Monitor dies when faced with a star. But this event also took many lives from the army of defenders. Only a few managed to survive, including Captain Marvel.

"Justice Society of America"

In "OCA" Captain Marvel (DC Comics) joined to look after Black Adam, who also was there and claimed that he had changed for the better. True, he soon left the organization to raise an uprising in his homeland.

Only Captain Marvel (DC Comics) was not going to leave, because he was interested in one of the heroines - Courtney Whitmore (Stargirl). And all would be nothing, if not for one moment. The fact that in normal form, Billy Batson approached the girl by age, but after his transformation, the couple looked strange. As a result, one of the participants of the "OCA", Jay Garrick, asked about his present age. But instead of answering, Bill left the organization forever.

Film

It's interesting that Captain Marvel (DC Comics) did not get to the big screens. The film was conceived in 2000, but the picture has not been taken off yet. But in 2019, it seems, still will be released a film called "Shazam", where a superhero, blessed with six gods, is supposed to fight with Black Adam.
