The enemy of living quarters is mold on the walls. Methods of prevention

Mold on the walls is a pretty serious problem that many residents face. Mold is a fungal formation not yet well studied by biologists, unlike plants and animals. About the mold with firmness can be stated that it begins to manifest relatively imperceptibly, it can come out almost everywhere, and mold can eat anything.

Mold on the walls can be seen in every corner of the dwelling, about 500 mushroom spores are hovering in every cubic meter of clean room. An unpleasant impression of the kind of black, green, blue, yellow-orange color remains in the memory for a long time. Sometimes, in cases of severe neglect of the problem, this picture is accompanied by an unpleasant smell.

From some time, fighting mold on the walls becomes a way of life. As a rule, the methods chosen for this are not always correct. Someone is trying to paint it up, someone is wasting time to flush with water, but time passes and the "beautiful" color on the walls manifests itself again and again.

Fungus on the walls not only destroys the material from which they are made, but also destructively affects the health of the inhabitants of such a room. Mold on the walls of an apartment house can cause some diseases, especially allergies. Breathing organs suffer greatly, bronchitis, pneumonia, tracheitis and even bronchial asthma can result . Being in a room affected by mold adversely affects the musculoskeletal system, the condition of the teeth, causes nausea, vomiting, and sometimes even severe exhaustion. People with weak immunity - children, old people - are at risk, inhaling harmful fungi, there is a risk of tuberculosis.

It is very difficult to bring out the appeared mold on the walls. A person can make the process of its reproduction impossible. In order to remove mold from the walls has become effective, it is necessary:

- to reveal the reasons for its appearance;

- eliminate the cause and thereby prevent its new appearance;

- remove the existing fungus from the walls;

The main reason for the appearance of mold on the walls is a high, and constantly, humidity in the living room (normally a value of 70-80% is considered).

Often people themselves create a favorable atmosphere for the life of the fungus. Conditions that contribute to the appearance of mold include:

  1. Marriage (absence or poor-quality waterproofing in inter-panel seams, too high humidity of building materials).
  2. Strong humidification of the walls during the rain.
  3. Moistened foundation. The walls are sucked moisture from the foundation (especially typical for old rooms without waterproofing).
  4. Establishment of plastic double-glazed windows. The room does not breathe, ventilation is violated and, consequently, humidity.
  5. Causes of household nature, such as the presence of a large number of domestic plants, animals, uneven heating, frequent washing.

The main factor in fighting mold on the walls is the adoption of preventive measures. The first thing you should pay attention to is the correctly located heating appliances and the regularity of airing the living quarters. Then you can follow the following plan:

- When detecting small spots of mold, treat with peroxide or vinegar;

- Install the swinging windows and ventilate the room as often as possible;

- leave the doors in the bathroom ajar if possible;

- use a special tool for deep processing (better to concrete or to brick) walls;

- Carry out the necessary work in the basement;

To bring out the final mold on the walls, often use proven folk remedies.

  1. Treatment of walls with creosote.
  2. Treatment with an aqueous solution with the addition of one of the following means:

- one and a half kg of sodium fluoride;

- copper (iron) vitriol - 1 kg;

- borax 900 g, boric acid - 400 g, 1.4 kg of vinegar;

Water is used in the amount of 10 liters.

The solution should be heated to a temperature of 70 degrees and apply to the mold formed. The treatment can be carried out monthly until full confidence in the destruction of the fungus.
