The beaches of Croatia are waiting for you

It is commonly believed that Croatia has a very rocky coast, and there are no such beautiful areas for sunbathing, as, for example, in Spain or Italy. And indeed, even in the luxurious five-star hotels of this country on the Adriatic Sea, the beach is often a concrete platform with gangways into the water. But it is not necessary to generalize and hang labels: what, they say, to this country of the former Yugoslavia go only for excursions to cities and national reserves, but not for the sake of sunbathing. Here we will tell you where the best beaches of Croatia are.

The rugged shoreline has already created conditions for the emergence of secluded coves hidden from prying eyes of bays and harbors. In addition, there are many islands here: small, deserted and just the smallest. It is clear that not everyone is on duty at the rescue station and there are various entertainments. But they certainly will like those who appreciate romance or just want to relax from the bustle and be closer to nature. But there are also such beaches in Croatia that are awarded the UNESCO Blue Flag for the purity of water, the level of tourist service and security.

Most of the bathing areas in the country are covered with pebbles or are rocks covered in scaffolding. Therefore, those who do not accept shingles in any form, you need to know where in Croatia sandy beaches. This is, first of all, the island: the sea washes sediments of the grinded shell rock to Hvar, Korcula, Krk, Lopud, Murter, Pag and others. But there are beautiful sandbanks in Split (Bacvice beach), Dubrovnik (Lapad). They are well equipped: they have a cafe, showers with fresh water, toilets, changing clothes, rent of umbrellas and sun loungers, playgrounds. What pleases, all without exception, recreation zones in the country are free, even in high-class hotels on the first line.

The pebbly beaches of Croatia are considered healing and very popular. Especially valuable are the zones with very small pebbles, which pleasantly massage the feet. The most famous among this category of beaches is Zlatni Rat (Golden Horn) near the Makarska Riviera, on the island of Hvar. Not inferior to him and other pebble recreation areas near Makarska: Brela, Baska Voda, Podgora, Tucepi. Here you can relax even with very young children. After all, the pebbles on these beaches are shallow, like sand, and the approach to the water is very gentle. Places under the sun enough for everyone - Makarska Riviera stretches for 40 km.

The city of Dubrovnik is also considered a resort where the best beaches of Croatia are located. We advise you to visit in it the recreation areas of Banje and Lourim. In Rovinj, the beautiful place for swimming is Grveni Otok beach.

Croatia is proud that it was one of the first in Europe to start taking nudists.
