The arterial pressure and pulse of a person - what is the norm?

The pulse and blood pressure indicators characterize the work of the heart and blood vessels. It must be said at once that it is impossible to clearly define their norm, since both the pressure and the pulse of a person have an individual character and depend on the age, way of life or occupation. You can only specify their average values.

So, the normal pressure indicators on average are 120/80. If a blood pressure of more than 140/90 is diagnosed during measurement, then it is already possible to talk about mild hypertension.

If we talk about the pulse, then a healthy person should be 60-80 beats / min. In this case, measurements should be carried out at rest. In consideration should be taken not only the frequency of pulsations of the vessels, but also such characteristics of the pulse as rhythmicity, filling and tension.

It is worth noting that the pulse of a person is not a constant indicator, because it depends on many factors. Thus, in newborns, the heart rate corresponds to the heart rate and is 140 beats / min. With age, this indicator falls - after 15 years it is 60-80 beats / minute, as in adults, and in older people may not reach these figures, but this is considered the norm.

Interesting is the fact that the pulse depends on the growth - in high people the pulse rate is less. Even gravitational factors have a certain influence on this indicator. In addition, women's heart beats faster than men. The rate of contraction of the heart affects the physical load, which provokes tachycardia - rapid heart rate, which corresponds to an accelerated pulse. The pulse rate can also be affected by the presence in the body of certain pathologies in which organs and tissues require more intensive blood supply and more oxygen. It should also indicate the role of stress and various experiences on the work of the heart.

Since the pulse of a person is a periodic expansion of blood vessels, which passes synchronously with the contraction of the heart, the detection of certain of its disorders allows us to identify in time the pathologies of the heart and blood vessels.

Most often, the pulse is counted in the area of the base of the hand outside the radius ray or in the region of the temples. In this case, the number of pulsations of the blood vessels is counted in one minute. It is important to pay attention to the rhythm of these pulsations, since different intervals between them indicate disturbances in the work of the heart or in the conducting system.

In case of pulse disorders, arrhythmias are often diagnosed. In this case, the pulse deficit is recorded - its indices are lower than the heart rate, and the time interval between the two pulse waves is different. Identification of such patterns becomes an important reason for a more thorough examination using sphygmography, which allows confirming the presence of arrhythmic cardiac contraction and timely appoint appropriate treatment.

It should be noted that the pulse of a person, as well as the blood pressure at the exit from the heart, depends on the state of the vessels (their tone and the elasticity of the walls). Changing the values of the pulse or pressure more or less than normal does not always indicate a severe heart attack. Although it should be remembered that only a specialist can judge what normal pressure in a person or pulse is. These concepts are very relative, so in any case, if a deviation is found, you should consult a doctor.
